Raytheon to provide midwave infrared sensor turrets for CH-53K and HH-60 military helicopters
October 2, 2013

Posted by John Keller

PATUXENT RIVER NAS, Md., 2 Oct. 2013. U.S. Navy helicopter avionics experts needed forward-looking infrared (FLIR) sensor pods for CH-53K heavy-lift helicopters and for HH-60 special operations helicopter. They found their solution from the Raytheon Co. Space and Airborne Systems segment in El Segundo, Calif.

Officials of the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) at Patuxent River Naval Air Station, Md., awarded $20 million order to Raytheon late last week to provide 30 AN/AAQ-29A electro-optical FLIR kits -- five for the CH-53 and 35 for the HH-60.

The AN/AAQ-29A is a lightweight, high performance FLIR with a 480-by-640-pixel 3-5 micron wavelength indium antimonide midwave infrared detector and a three-field-of-view telescope on a 12-inch turret. The FLIR pod helps helicopter pilots with low-level navigation to high altitude long-range targeting.

The Sikorsky CH-53K Super Stallion is a large, heavy-lift cargo helicopter for the U.S. Marine Corps. The three-engine rotorcraft has composite rotor blades, wide cabin, and will be the largest and heaviest helicopter in the U.S. military when it enters service sometime next year.

Well, good luck with that, sincerely. There maybe something in it, who knows?Personally, I would make an attempt for a claim now, rather than waiting to see what happens. If things go belly-up and then you make a claim it will seem more like a case of sour grapes. If you make a claim now there will be more emphasis on the mis-selling rather than being overshadowed by any outcome.

I don't know what the claims conditions are though.

I would be careful which claim company and legal advice you use; some of these claim companies are just as bad as irresponsible brokers.

I had a broker once of which I obtained evidence, through some of my contacts, proving he was corrupt. He worked for a big and well-respected broker but wasn't dealing at 'arms length'. The guy is dead now so maybe there is such a thing as bad karma.

IMHO & DYOR

You need to view them as gone and make other arrangements for money/savings for your future; the chances of you retrieving anything of what you had before are minimal at best, particularly if you are long-term Scotty and/or Motion Media.

As hard as it is, recognition of and accepting loss needs to be done as quick as possible. The sooner it is done, the sooner you can put your efforts into and focus on productive investments. I would also advise finding new financial advisors/brokers.

abrahe00 & moving up

I am not concerned because I have no investment in this company.

If you have money tied-up within this company, and you believe Diamond may alter prospects, why wouldn't you ask the question? It is YOUR investment, look after it properly.

I have no inside information; it is just observations that make me conclude nothing is happening with Diamond. Nothing has for years. Considering the state of the company one would think if things were promising here it would have been mentioned. Conversely, if things do look promising, and there is no mention, why do you think that may be? I will leave that one with you to ponder.

As I have said before, there are plenty of other companies out there delivering good returns and good information flow; there is truly no need to consider companies like this - even more so when you have limited liquidity and foreign language issues.

Apple was $60/share not many years ago - go and have a look at it now. You don't need to invest in small companies like this to get a ten-fold increase in value.

As Claus Von Stauffenberg says in Valkyrie,"I've already made my decision, I'm here to help others make theirs."

IMHO

Woody: Did they mention anything about stock liquidity or making the shares more marketable? Are they going to appoint a Market Maker?

Thanks
