OK So what is Holland Park worth? It looks to me as if Larry wants to buy something!!

I have been buying more here between52 and 55p. My logic is the price is 12.5% less than last years placing and 10% less than the only directors purchases.

This is the hard thing about investing. Shares do things like this.(For history sake its a week to the brexit vote and the shares have fallen to new low of 50p)

I remember investing in safestore where Soros had invested at double the price I paid. He probably thought it was a good investment case at the time as I did (and do) here.

“The business generated £4m (£1.9m) of revenue and increased beds from 560 to 1,526 to December 2015. Loss before tax of £0.6m as the business put in place infrastructure to support growth. The group consists of three freehold properties valued at c. £29m and an interest in a leasehold property at £12.7m. NAV per share increased to 48p in FY15. Two hostels were added in FY15 in London (Holland Park) and in Edinburgh toward the backend of FY15 so business has not had a full year of benefit from the two new hostels. Business doubled in size in FY15, though did not see the benefits of a full year of trading from Holland Park and Edinburgh which will be the case in FY16. Management seeks to double the size of the business again in FY16 and has appointed Philip Houghton as CEO and Mark Beveridge (former InterContinental Hotels Group) as FD to help support the senior management team in its preparation to accelerate growth into key European cities…”

Good interview. I do not like the idea of safestay moving out of the uk until it has exhausted its market here. I was involved in a former Lipman vehicle that tried safe storage in Milan- Not great is a polite way of putting it.

Somewhat surprised at the strong trading statement coming in a utube interview rather than in an rns.

Results due now so doubtless a new purchase will be announced?

Philip Houghton, chief executive of Hostel operator Safestay PLC (LON:SSTY), tells Proactive that the company needs to “grow more aggressively” to keep up with the significant demand for its hostels.
The company has two hostels in London, where only 4% of the hotels in the city are classed as hostels.
“That’s a gross undersupply” Houghton says, adding that “we know there is far more demand than the current hostels can meet, and that’s reflected with the fact we are trading really strongly”.

I have been averaging down. Now my cost of purchase stands at 65p.

Doubtless Larry is full of expansion plans so maybe I should have waited. I very much like the hostel space. Its between Air BnB and hotels. I think the result due in Mid April will give a good clue as to where its going
