I am sorry to say I had a change of mind after researching further, and sold what I had brought at the open. I think I will just watch from the sidelines for now, and hope that the share price increases from here for current holders.

I'm a little confused, why have the company used only 2.1 million shares to work out their earnings today, when there are 9.6 million in issue, not including the convertible warrants.

forget the current prospects.

This all depends on Larry!

If he can build by acquisition to say a 15 property hostel chain then there is room for a little fun!

Great to see you here as this is a very very quiet thread. Prospects look really good indeed given those occupancy levels were ahead of budget. Only going to improve especially at York with the refurb drawing in new visitors. 1.4 million cash to add another property to the estate.
Westhouse have a 78p target price which isn't too demanding.

Hi battlebus, seem to be following you around :o)

Brought in here today, today's results caught my interest, now I need to do my normal research.

But SSTY do look rather undervalued after my first quick check of the fundamentals.

Maiden results out..

Elephant and Castle occupancy rates 75.6% from 64.1%

York occupancy rates 50.9% from 44% though coming from a low base.

Profit for the 2 months since floating 100k

On the look out for potential acquisition opportunities.

Should move higher imv.

Acquisition of Hostel

Safestay (AIM: SSTY), the owner and operator of a new brand of contemporary hostel, is pleased to announce that it has exchanged contracts to acquire a hostel in York, which will be re- branded to trade as Safestay, for a consideration of GBP2.35 million to be satisfied in cash.

The Hostel which operates from a freehold property is situated on Micklegate and comprises 160 beds. In its most recent financial year to 31 December 2013, it had unaudited turnover of GBP0.6 million derived from 45 per cent. occupancy. The property has been independently valued by Edward Symons at GBP2.6 million.

The consideration payable will be satisfied from a combination of the Company's own cash resources and a loan of GBP1.5 million to be provided by Bredbury Limited at an interest rate of 0.75 per cent. per month for eight months and 11 per cent. for the next four months.

Completion of the acquisition is expected to take place on 23 May 2014.

Larry Lipman, Chairman of Safestay, commented:

"We are delighted to be able to announce this acquisition of a hostel in York so soon after the admission to trading on AIM of Safestay on 2 May 2014. Furthermore, acquiring the Hostel as a going concern gives the benefit of an immediate revenue stream, while the building requires only minimal capex, mainly to be incurred in its re-branding as Safestay."

Lol, well I suppose if you stayed long enough at the Everyman you could call it a hostel with movies and booze thrown in but do go getting any ideas :))

Hi N3tleyLucas thanks. Fundfemale great input ,good to have your knowledge onboard. I don't believe we will have to wait long before another site is found given the knowledge of the Safeland directors.

Okay ff, cheers... so they've got elbow room to expand. Obviously London gets the mass budget visitors so that's probably their future focus rather than moving north.

Enjoy the cup final if you can ff! lol :)

N3tleyLucas.

They have a facility of 5 million available from Coutts of circa 5 million.

Plus another 2.8 million from convertible loan notes to be converted/exercised within the IPO fund raise.

Additionlly, like any hotel chain, another means of growing the brand could be through management of existing properties (as well as real estate purchase UK/overseas).

Hey ff :)
You think this can unlock some of the property value to expand?

n3tleylucas

Right, had a look at the ad doc, it's basically a great idea. Not unduly cheap based on past profits, but it's about growth of the brand. How can it grow? Well it can't afford to buy-up expensive property in London, so I'd guess it moves North to expand. Places like Manchester & Leeds would probably be a good idea to attract people who might stay for a few days but don't want to pay for a hotel... rock concerts or just folk who want to enjoy a night out but can't because of train times etc.

Hi N3tleyLucas,

A healthy net uplift very possible I would say. The net for 2013 was just under £500,000 based on 72% occupancy - this year SSTY have already stated they forecast to be ahead of that occupancy level. Also there are near -term roll-out plans.

Lots of stats in the admissions document.

Best FF
