30/9/2009 10:09 | QuePassa - agreed. At these levels, 12% RAB div also worth risk IMHO. | the_owl
30/9/2009 08:57 | Man Group gave its Pre-Close trading Update today which makes very upbeat reading in my view, and is likely to be reflective of improving funbdamentals across the hedge-fund sector. The full text of the the Man Group Pre-Close statement can be found on RNS or Man's web-site. Peter Clarke, CEO of Man, concludes his statement with the words:- "...Investor sentiment is continuing to improve across the industry, the performance outlook is healthy and the prospects for sustained industry inflows are very promising..." This is, in my view, very good news for the sector and one would expect RAB to benefit in due course from the overall improvement in investor sentiment and more positive sector fundamentals.. All IMO. DYOR | quepassa

17/9/2009 09:47 | The share is trading at or around the 30th June NAV, with no credit for the undoubted uplift in some of its investments and also no recognition in my opinion of likely strong future earnings' streams. - All main markets have shown phenomenal growth over the last three months. Certain sectors and certain stocks have shown increases in value which are off the graph. It cannot be ruled out in my view that the 3rd QUARTER performance of RAB may have been remarkably robust with outstanding performance-related fees for RAB. One notes the strong marketing efforts that RAB is making to retain and gain new clients such as their recent high profile sponsorship of Polo in The Park at The Hurlingham. One notes from the July 29th announcement concerning 30/6 Interims that:- 1. That the interim dividend was maintained as per 2008 2. That Asset Flows into RAB had recommenced in the Second Quarter - which in my view are likely to gather further momentum as markets have stabilised and investors are now more and more moving out of cash and back into other more dynamic asset classes and into hedge funds. 3. That The Board state that The Company is well-capitalised and will be looking to release an element of excess capital to shareholders over time. It would seem that the market and climate is much more favourable and there may or may not be a not insignificant uplift for RAB in:- a) The balance sheet value of some of its investments ( eg. the money it has invested in some of its own funds ) b) performance fees. All IMO. DYOR. QP | quepassa
14/9/2009 16:08 | over sold again so topped up with a few more ,in there ss fund there are a few star performers ,i would think by now there nav should be around 23p | iantc
12/9/2009 08:31 | From the July fund letter RAB has today published its interim statement for 2009. Whilst this is not a matter of particular focus for fund investors, it is nevertheless important to note that the group is on target to produce very much better results than in 2008 and has maintained a strong balance sheet with £102 million of net current assets and investments. Moreover, in the second quarter of 2009 asset flows recommenced into RAB single strategies. | joe say
11/9/2009 20:02 | I've lost my nerve with RAB, markets are good small caps are strong and this chart looks so poor, I'm out. Will keep a close eye on what happens, just seems odd that this is sliding down at present, who knows what? | chrisgail
04/9/2009 14:15 | like i said yesterday oversold on the back of silly rumours | iantc
04/9/2009 08:58 | not sure why the fall, surprising considering the strong recent bounce in small miners - unless there's a technical reason, or the change of adviser/broker. chart looks like the apr/may bottom could be support, indicators looking good for a turn up above daily chart seems incorrect atm | gurp
03/9/2009 12:57 | well net current assets of 21.7p ,i would say a little oversold now | iantc
03/9/2009 12:09 | Seems as though the drop is overdone unless there is some other underlying reason. | harryg
02/9/2009 21:15 | thanks iantc.lets hope for a bounce.regards,fig. | fig1
02/9/2009 21:08 | they have been selling a few shares and some say it may be for redemtions but imho they are taking profits of the table on some stocks like amc ,btc and will buy them back later at a lower price ,ie amc sold to below 3% 10/12p mark and it would not suprise me if they were part of the recent placing at 7p and were back in buying today at 8p | iantc
02/9/2009 20:54 | this is a bit worrying.anyone know what is up with rab?regards,fig. | fig1
