A dry bulk vessel from Oldendorff Carriers has tested a fuel blend with second-generation biofuel on a voyage from Australia to Vietnam. The biofuel reduced CO2 emissions by 15 percent, the carrier says.

A ship from German dry bulk operator Oldendorff Carriers has tested a fuel blend containing second-generation biofuel on a voyage from Australia to Vietnam, the company writes in a press release.

Vessel Edwine Oldendorff completed the test on a sailing from Albany Grain Terminal in Western Australia to Vietnam carrying 30,000 tonnes of malting barley from CBH Group to Intermalt, the leading malting company in Vietnam.
