06/6/2011 21:51 | Considering that it is less than 2 months since the interim management statement, there may well be some special announcement that had to wait until after the year end. June 9th should reveal all. | pifedayo
06/6/2011 19:39 | This one has ticked up a long way in anticipation of results that are not likely to be that special. Is there something else going on in the background here? | ygor705

06/5/2011 12:00 | One to keep an eye on especially in down markets like we have at present and considered a defensive stock... PZ CUSSONS PZC | mechanical trader
20/4/2011 09:49 | I only buy Source now as it is not tested on animals, is made in the UK and is damn good. The only reason I stumbled upon it was due to the in-store offers attracting me to buy it. A prime case of why lots of TV advertising is not always necessary. | bonio10000
20/4/2011 09:28 | redartbmud 1. I agree that there are those who think that way, but in the current 'squeeze' many are trying cheaper alternatives and base further purchases on comparative performances. Also PZC benefit from sales of the store own brands that they manufacture. 2. Again I agree to a point. However there are also those who no longer watch in awe at the TV ads. In store placements of products, especially special offers have their own advertising which can have an immediate affect at the point of sale. 3. The announcement of the next major development in Nigeria which was estimated to cost $27 million over 2 years saw the start of the downturn in the share price from the December 2010 high point. | pifedayo
20/4/2011 08:56 | pifedayo Read what you say about advertising, but counter argument: 1. Do people think product inferior if sold at significantly lower price to competition? 2. Advertising stimulates interest & association in product - consumers go out & buy brand X automatically because "conditioned" by advertising. | redartbmud
19/4/2011 13:45 | You will not see as much advertising for PZC products as for rivals which indicates an alternative approach. Also having worked for the group in Nigeria, the skirmishes in the Northern areas were to be expected. If the previous President had not died, there would still be a Northerner in the post. Historically the PDP have rotated their Presidential candidates between north and south. | pifedayo
19/4/2011 09:21 | Like the company. Have visited the factory in Manchester - staff first class. Seriously worried about marketing at present. Why are they discounting product so heavily against rivals? Lots of BOGOF or Buy 1 get 2 free. Not good for margin. | redartbmud
19/4/2011 09:13 | I'm suprised that the share price has not been more severley affected with the unrest in Nigeria. "Good Luck Johnathan" what a name! 3800 | 3800
15/4/2011 16:16 | I assume you mean a gap down? not the best trading update and this has had a pretty good run up recently. | bonio10000
15/4/2011 15:18 | Well - gaps do close! | toffeeman
21/2/2011 17:03 | pallwtt - see the link oe post 215 - it explains the situation IMHO. | pifedayo
21/2/2011 14:02 | These do seem to be totally unloved now, anyone know why sentiment has turned so much against them? | pallett
14/2/2011 15:18 | Down through 200 day MA - if it doesn't bounce there's more downside IMO | toffeeman
28/1/2011 14:34 | Good to see PZC taking a tentative step into sponsorship/advertis | pifedayo
26/1/2011 13:08 | could it really be that I got my timing spot on for once... I've been out of pzc since the beginning of november and back in at 342.5 yesterday??!! | stevedeer
25/1/2011 17:56 | I think it had just got too far ahead of itself, shame I did not sell some at £4 though. Nigeria is casting doubts as well, the sooner the issue of the election is sorted and the better. Still a good cash rich company to stay with I think. | pallett
25/1/2011 11:32 | I think the reason for the fall is that PZC was trading on an historic high P/E I'm not saying it isn't a good company but the current price after a drop still factors in high growth rates. See here for historic P/E ratios 3800 | 3800 |
