"Whilst raw material costs are currently trending lower than the previous year the trading environment is such that the majority of the benefit is being invested in retaining our competitive position." ie. tough market pressure on margins due to intense competition....due to pressure on disposable incomes...and that aint about to change in Europe or Nigeria...

well....I'm not a charting expert... but it looks to me like the share price has broken down thru support.....

what does the 200MA say to you then ? PZC now doing some stretches and limbering up.....as it gets ready to sprint down thru the support at 380p !...whether it decides to have a short snooze first...we have to wait to see ! (it might wander back up a little if the FTSE recovers a bit tomorrow from today's fall)

looks like last min. on down trend was 380p.... if it goes down thru that ...then a reasonable fall is likely...(at least 10-20p over a few days imo)

...nice to be right every now and again ! down 2.3% so far today --- "watching from the sidelines." you're not interested in going the shorters then ? (mkt has gone up over last few months....while PZC has gone down...and shows a clear falling trend from a peak imo.....infers -ve scenario imo)

Toiletries and cleaning products continue to be very heavily discounted in the shops. Every £1 price reduction feeds straight to the bottom line. I continue to watch for now. red

RNS from SWL, cosmetics etc producer. "Trading has continued to be affected by weak consumer demand across the UK and European markets and this has been exacerbated by a strong and prolonged period of promotional activity undertaken by the major brands. " "Swallowfield plc is a market leader in the development, formulation and supply of cosmetics, toiletries and related household products to the own label and branded sectors" ie. the sector PZC is in is weak

BTW bad results yesterday at other cosmetics/pers. products company SWL ...reported a loss....and hence an increase in debt... shares down 10% over 2 days...and move to come imo Cussons next ? ---- "Market and Economic Background Over the last six months, the economic background in the UK and Europe has once again deteriorated and appears to have affected consumer and customer confidence across most major markets. This has had some impact on the toiletries and cosmetics sector as one would expect and has resulted in lower levels of underlying demand and greater caution in the timing and incidence of new product launches. Decided timt to bring curtain down on my holding today. Downside outweighs the upside by too large a margin.

ouch ! sale of segment in Poland is not good news imo approx. 1p reduction in EPS and reduces debt a bit but still debt remaining... in my opinion forced to do it...to avoid being too geared and too exposed reduction in EPS may not go down well with the market If PZC sold the rest of its assets at the same price relative to turnover ....the cap. value would be 1/2...but with turnover of zero ! imperial leather...nice brand...but the shares are overpriced imo I note that Danone are getting rid of 900 staff in Europe....due to reduction in sales....its a tough retail environment out there for sales and margins imo. and that includes for PZC

14p EPS at PZC same at CRE CRE costs 90p and PZC costs 410p CRE has no debt PZC has 50M debt (maybe 2 years to pay off ?) CRE is viewed as cheap and may be subject to a takeover ( another co. is same sector has bt 6% of the co)...while PZC is viewed imo as expensive Which is a better buy ? pay 90p to get 14p of EPS or pay 410p ? I know which I think is a better buy

well, PZC may well have peaked at 420p and now be heading down....wait to see what happens... a possible trade imo is short on PZC and long on CRE one is expensive and one is cheap and starting a share buy back.... and CRE has much higher yield and much higher EPS per pnd of share. (EPS is around the same, while CRE costs 90p/share, PZC costs 4 quid, crazy imo almost 4 times the cost to get a similar EPS) such a pair trade seems good odds to me Agree that CPR share price is nuts.....I wonder how the price is being held up ?...perhaps the big holders are doing a pair trade on it, (and selling some other similar company somewhere, maybe even in different currency ) just to generate some buy trades to support their big investment, maybe a smaller loss than letting it fall...maybe they think they can hold it up till a better economic cycle starts.... I'm sure that CPR share price will get its just rewards in the end !...ie. collapse (and at CPR the value of their property or leases must surely be falling heavily as well...if announce that then maybe that would trigger a fall)

If you think PZC is overvalued (I'm not so sure) then have a look at CPR that really is nuts.
