Update on The Kent Potato Company

Further to the Company's announcement on 8 October 2015 regarding the closure of its packing facility in Kent, the 45 day consultation period with employees has now ended. Following this consultation, the Company can now confirm that packing operations will cease at the site in early December, with volumes transferring to their sites in the Scottish Borders and Cambridgeshire.

All quiet on this BB. A bullish sign if there ever was one!

Results out. Looks pretty good to me. Exposure on contingent liability is in the sort of range expected. Increased dividend. Reduced debt. Continued restructuring, but encouraging overall. Looks like they are losing some volume from a key account (Sainsbury?) but have a 3 year fixed margin contract. Overall, this looks a solid business as it has delivered some fairly good results in a very tough year for the industry. Very happy with my 130p BUY now!

It's a one-off and they are probably in the thick of dealing with insurers etc. Probably not very smart to announce a range as well if its commercially confidential and will prejudice negotiations. Hopefully mostly covered by insurance but top end gross exposure may be a few million I would guess for the week or so of impacted product. Suspect it's material but not disastrous so I'm holding.

Net exposure will depend on their insurance policy!

Yes that's was my thought, if we had a ball park figure it may have stopped the couple of sales first thing or then again we might have all been selling.......

Would have been nice if they could have put a range on the associated cost.

Product recall still not finalised and with financial impact into next years results.

Just how much compensation we have to pay is going to lead to a few sellers today..

Yes Battlebus. Would you mind carry a few jerseys on board? There isn't enough meals on wheels today in my opinion.

How does anyone manage to trade this stock? 600bps spread and no quote available for 5000 shares! Is it always this illiquid?

Disappointing news this week, but limited impact I suspect and will soon blow-over. Share price seems to have pulled back today.

I saw on the grocer (?) there is 50% EU funding for some sort of JV to promote the nutritional value of potatoes. Probably chips still not healthy but it won't stop me!
