Bought small amount after floatation and will now top up as there seems room for growth over the next few years.

Massively overvalued from a P/E point of view but it looks like a strong business. My main concern would be the amount of Capex neccessary per year.

Sorry, didn't check the thread yesterday. These are the average of the broker forecasts for the next three years, I pulled them off ProQuote.

The last few days have seen a lot of buying and very little selling. 289K volume on Monday and 94K yesterday. Today showing 9K, all buys.

I doubt this will be a spectacular short term performer, but should show a longer term rise if the figures are met. If the projected EPS of 4.36 is met next month, then maiden figures would put them on a current P/E of 22, modest given the prospects.

Davius - 26 Mar'07 - 20:15 - 5 of 5: Expectations are for pretax of £2.9m for 2006 (results due April), £5.6m for 2007 and £8.3m for 2008. Projected EPS in 2008 of 9.33p would put them on a forward P/E of just over 10.

Davius - curious to know where you got these figures from !

Their release in January read as follows:

Polymer Logistics N.V. ("the Company"), a provider of 'one-touch' logistics solutions to leading retailers and suppliers in the UK and Continental Europe, today announces that it expects to announce its preliminary results for the year ended 31 December 2006 by mid-April 2007 and that it is anticipated that these results will be in line with market expectations.

Recent commentary by the UK's leading retailers indicates that cost reduction and environmental issues continue to be a core focus of retail management teams.

We continue to believe that the Company remains extremely well placed to address these issues through its cost effective, reuseable and environmentally friendly 'one touch' packaging products and services.

Notwithstanding the short period of trading since the year end, demand for the Company's Retail Ready Packaging units from retailers and their suppliers continues to grow and the Directors have confidence in predicting a successful outcome for 2007.

Still on my watchlist since I would like to see some numbers in order to put a market cap of £72m into perspective. Todays spike up was predictable after yesterdays coverage in The Sunday Times.

Looks a good prospect. I bought in for my Investment Club on the advice from IFG a couple of months ago, I was impressed by the quality of their retail customers and there must be scope to expand rapidly and it's 'Green'

So all good news so far

Extract from Merryn Somerset Webbs article in todays Sunday Times.

"My next suggestion, Polymer Logistics, comes courtesy of Nigel Milton, of Investing for Growth, who pointed out its merits to me last week. Legislation and consumer pressure are forcing retailers to start proving their green credentials.......but the other area that most big firms need to tackle very publicly is packaging. M&S has said it intends to cut packaging waste by 25% and the other supermar-kets are bound to follow, if only to stop the green lobbyists encouraging do-gooders to rip off the packaging and dump it on the till. This is where Polymer comes in: it is, says Milton, "the right company, with the right project, at the right time". Goods are usually transported from wholesaler to retailer in boxes on wooden pallets, but this isn't a particularly good way to do things: all the packing and unpacking is labour-intensive; the extra handling of the goods causes damage and wastage. Most worryingly for retailers, with the EU after them with a new directive encouraging minimal packaging, there is endless waste of cardboard boxes.

Polymer solves pretty much all these problems. Its products - mainly what it calls "retail-ready packaging" are designed to be used not just for transporting and storing goods but also for displaying them once they reach the shops. Everything is stackable, reusable, cleanable and foldable. Clients - who can buy or rent the products - include Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury's and Carrefour. House broker Collins Stewart expects the company's sales to double this calendar year, and the shares are on a very reasonable p/e ratio of 11 times".

Company issued a pre-close trading update on January 26th 2007 stating that it expects to announce preliminary results, for the year ending December 2006, by mid-April and that "it is anticipated that these results will be in line with market expectations".

They also stated that the company believed that it was well placed to address current retail focus upon reuseable and environmentally friendly issues with its cost effective 'one touch' packaging products and services. "Notwithstanding the short period of trading since the year end, demand for the company's RRP units from retailers and their suppliers continues to grow and the directors have configence in predicting a successful outcome for 2007"

does shorting cable cause a fuse to blow?

Weak govts bad for currency and markets IMO

Protest vote will mean lower than 66 - unless Con/Libs damage each other.

Strong left wing liberal vote partiularly bad given emboldened labour left wing.

Looking at AOL's list of target seats for the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats it does look to have been an uphill struggle for both parties. Hard to see the Conservatives gaining more than 35 - 40 seats and the Liberal Democrats more than 9 - 13 this is after taking into account a few losses by both these two parties to each other.
They say the Conservatives need to get 4% more than Labour to form a Government and Labour could achieve that with equal voting.

Having said all that the result is already decided so it's guessing time. Remember boundary changes have changed the situation in Scotland and some parts of England.

My own guess is that the parties will be much closer than expected - Labour 35.5% - Conservatives 35% - Liberal Democrats 23.5% - the rest 6%.

Labour overall majority of 54.
