Drbeng also sorry to hear that, I hope your other investments fare much better.

I must be wearing rose tinted specs because to me it looks like it is all starting to come together.

PGMs flying again. Looking solid and expecting a supply deficit to the rising demand in jewellery and currency hedging after projects went offline.

SH albeit ramping up late and having teething problems will still be one of the lowest cost producers with the bonus of its own power generators. Debt free.

Kalplats shaping up as another low cost possible high resource project out of the Bushveld.

Rooderand looking like it might be a bargain.

A lot more talk of consolidation in the PGM sector, anything happening there and we could see a rerating across the board. PLA is not the only one to have been flatlining. JLP, PPN and SLV all of which I hold have done little recently. Missed ELR when it was obviously cheap although beautiful chart.

Soros sees value here unless he was hoping for a quick flip. Expect some ISA buying next week. Hopefully the bad news is now out of the way and we can start progressing. Obviously there are negatives, time delays, chinese fiasco, strikes, pot holes but feel most of those are behind us now. Lightning never strikes twice......

Dr, sorry to hear that as it may be time to jump on board. Let's try and look on the brightside. The rising platinum and palladium prices are just what PLAA needs, not least for the resource calculations at Kalplats and Rooderand. Because this has been so unloved it has been held back - so the re-rating could be surprisingly vigorous and enjoyable and may come soon, maybe next week?

That's a real shame if you've been forced to sell, you have my sympathies. I just hope Sod's law isn't waiting round the corner. You have been let down badly here. I think we have all been drawn in to the story, and we've all been caught out by so many occasions when it looked as if things were coming good, only to see the shareprice crash again unexpectedly.

Good luck and fortune in better prospects in the future.

Similar story with me.....started buying in 2006, paid about 20p or so I think, kept adding right up to £1.60 with all the promises of great things to come.....then the crash, and here we are. It wouldn't be so painful if we hadn't been left so far behind.

The management were supposed to be a brilliant team, especially John Lewins, but I'm beginning to question everything I've heard these days.

A good whinge under these circumstances is perfectly acceptable I think. There's certainly no reason to do much else.

I wonder what happened to Mr Ashley James, (and his various other aliases),the original tipster of this? Last I heard, he'd lost the plot? All those charts sent him scatty! It would have been nice to have had his (rational) opinion now.

Murayteller,

if it is any consolation I held them since late teens and watch them get to £1.50 and then you know the rest of the story...

Share your views, I am just hoping that Kalplats turns good and the company is taken out.

A core holding for me here but I have to admit it has been a disappointing year so far. PLAA will be hard put to produce the 65koz PGMs in FY2009/10 they said they would do in their November 09 presentation, mainly because of the pothole. Recoveries have been much less than they originally anticipated and they have a lot to do if they are going to make a profit for the full year.

The great hope, Kalplats, has turned up far fewer resource oz than I had expected for the amount of drilling they have done and only 49% are attributable to PLAA. If you go back to the first year or so of the thread you'll get some idea of the optimistic resource figures that were being bandied around in the early days.

If it wasn't for the Soros stake and Rooderand I think I would have got out. But where else to go if you want a stake in PGMs? Also hold AQP (because of RDG) and, more recently, Eastern Platinum.

marketcash,

I hold DGO, MML and CEY (starting to move again :-) too. All very nice.

PLAA has just bounced along at this price for quite a while now. With Platinum being at almost a year high you would have thought there might be a bit more interest here.

Cheers,
Niels

Hello darkness, my old friend
I've come to talk with you again
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence

Rooderand coming up trumps I see in today's news: "...include 6m @ 5.79 g/ 4E from 10.90m...". However diagonal that drill may have been, that is an intersection of the Kalplats kind, never mind Merensky.
