Fear not, you are not alone in feeling you are the only one losing out on current gains in other stocks. The same thing seems to be happening to me too.

It seems that all the stocks I have considered buying, but didn't, have gone up, and all the ones I did buy, have gone down. Some quite considerably. And as for my considerable investment here, well, the journey is becoming ever longer. Ever since PLAA had it's bounce up to 73p or so in January, and promptly went down again due to lightening and a pothole, and recently the industrial action, it just has not recovered.

We are due the DFS figures soon, but I'm not holding my breath. Kalplats is still so far away.

We can only hope that our stocks have their day too, when the others are taking a breather.

laser, it all seems to be passing me by. PGM stocks flying again today, apart from PLAA. Not a great feeling. Hopefully Soros really does know what he is doing here and we get the spike we deserve

hi doshdabbler, i am only pte investor but when i like something i tend to go overweight in it hope you find some good one's in 2010. i have been waiting like others here for chl to bear fruit ,so i hope to extract a few more % on that one, cannot be in everything but a few of mine now levelled off & waiting newsflow eg aym, the key seems to be to spot em before the masses arrive, we had plenty of good buys around on the market 12mths ago i remeber jlp at 9p,anyhow good luck with your investments, from wahat i have read it does look like that US interest rates will not rise for at least 6mths so the dow could defo rise further i think, you do certainly need to add the luck in this game but if you believe then patience pays

Pt price strong, PGM stocks flying, JLP the subject of constant speculation, ELR a possible suitor for XTA... PLAA looking tired.

Wish I'd stayed with AQP laser. I must be the only investor that's down in the past 12 months

drewz ,murrayteller,,, you will love this one.. have a look at the 2010 stockchallenge, i made a few entries with the family hope you guys are making serious life changing money. I just hope the markets don't collapse as i have a habit of not selling at the correct time, long live ridgemining, as we know murrayteller it paid to stay the final mile on ridge to aqp conversion

PLAA has lost its fanbase, but I expect fireworks here in due course. Buoyant PGM prices, consolidation talk, Quantum, Kalplats etc will finally catch up with it

lightning strikes and potholes are testament to the fact you can never know for sure what is around the corner.

most loyal holders probably do not see these as the fault of management as frustrating as it is could they have avoided it? Luckily my 4 oil companies have all taken off over the last few months so time makes no difference to me on PLA and like Drewz I also see kalplats as the jewel, everything else is really a stepping stone to get that into production.

the other pgm miner I hold, Platmin, also had industrial action not long ago and is something that will no doubt increase in frequency in the SA mining sector. also in ENK via RMLA although not out of choice ;-) wonder if we will ever see the pgms there.

Shares seldom perform as expected, even with the most rigorous fundamental analysis.

Two of my cr@pest shares - GTL and PANR have been performing best in recent weeks whilst others with huge proven assets, like CHL and ENK have gone nowhere due to funding uncertanties.

Then when you least expect it and have emotionally just about 'thrown in the towel', they invariably take off!

As for PLAA, I still believe Kalplats will be a hugely profitable mine in due course.

It is just a very slow and frustrating process getting it to that point.

Thanks for the link. It's interesting that they are still quoting 55,000 oz for 2009/2010, and 95,000 oz for 2010/2011, since by their own admission, production is already reduced because of the pothole, and now by the industrial dispute.

As you say, the shareprice now is no higher than in 2006. I'll have to compare that with PLAA's peers, to see if there is a disparity. Even with reduced production, the PGM price alone should see this higher.

I am beginning to question why holders here are so loyal to this company and the management. Am I missing something?

I have held a great many shares here for some years, but am seriously asking myself these days, why? The potential with Kalplats is huge, but will the progress be just as slow as with Smokey Hills? Surely the next quarterlies are going to be disappointing again, how can they NOT be?

Sacriligious to mention such aspects of life on a forum like this, I know, with a culture of 'greed is good' and 'every man for himself'.

Not really Drews.It is counter productive to have an unhappy workforce.PLAA are at arms length in that they contract out the mining.It's still in their interests to see the workforce are well looked after

lets hope we will be back in production on Friday If this drags on into next week maybe even better buying opportunity, not too bothered as only holding a few but nice to see some old rdg holders still here

It's not just coincidence then, that every time we have a 'problem', and the shareprice drops......lo and behold, a short time later, we find that George Soros has bought a few million? Very interesting.

It's so obvious what's happening. All recent setbacks have merely served to facilitate Quantum's mop-up of shares. They, in turn, know PLAA will be bought out in very due course. Keep buying when Soros buys.
