I also have been a ftse ir director. This sounds like a leak of a deal that was not planned for signature this week so I am not concerned yesterday's non exec purchase precludes this being paysafe. They would have cleared it with the Fsa listing regs anyway. And then there is the Barclays 620p price target. They will have done recent due diligence on paysafe and concluded that there is 75% upside....

Re discussions on chairman purchase, I'm with redlee. I used to work in the IR side of a main market investment company - different space, admittedly- but there's no way that our chairman would have been buying shares if any potential takeover was on the cards... just too close to the wind...

Sage quoted as wanting to focus on the enterprise software and rumoured to want to bid for an oracle business so would value the cash quickly from paysafe as well as the longer term partnership

I do not know the SAGE US business but here do they not specialise in small business?

That would mean it could be a nice fit in with the GOLO strategy.

These shorts wanna get off here quick as sage pay NA would be highly accretive from year 1 and could be financed in cash. No rights issue here
