Very positive 1H - shareholder equity still 20p and increased profit

This sums up the outlook nicely

Dov Feiner, Chief Executive Officer, commented:

"I am pleased to announce that during the first half of 2014 the Company continued to improve both its margins and profits. This healthy progress was accompanied by strong cash generation. This resulted with the Company's first half operational profits exceeding those generated during the whole of 2013.

"We continue to see strong demand for our 80GHz products and in the first half of 2014 our revenue from this product line was greater than for the full year 2013. Current order backlog remains strong and we expect to show a substantial increase in revenues from this product line during this year.

"We have made good progress in the first half of 2014 and the Board is confident that this trend will continue for the rest of the year. The Board is encouraged that the outlook for the Group remains positive."

MWE do seem to be progressing and developing a little momentum; if they can maintain this performance a rerating is inevitable.

Ticking up a few % each day ahead of results

Whilst we don't know what the results will say in terms of profit we do know that they will have
Net cash of circa 7.5p/share
Property value circa 4p/share
And total equity of circa 21p/share
And for Q1 profitable, growing and divi paying

What's not to like!

Good to see some volume supporting the tick up ahead of results back end of next week or early the following week if they report at the beginning of August as previous years

Might be the start of a move up prior to 1H results next week?

Results were 2nd Aug last year.

I'm expecting a positive 1H and outlook statement

I agree.

This went up on improving fundamentals and at one point appeared to be chased higher and higher. It has since fallen back significantly which appears to only based on trading.

I have added today - 96% of volume traded is me! all at or below mid! (12.0, 11.88, 11.95) and finally 12.15 a fraction over the raised mid.

Given the lack of interest in Q1 (buy or sell) - I assume we are still off the radar

Good results today with stated confidence from the Board.

I expect the share price to return to the mid to late teens, especially given the equity value alone.

Sailing john - investments are in "safer" assets, ie. CD's and inv grade bonds. Not looking to make money on investments, Moni said that comp is looking for potential acquisitions. Focus is on developed, cash generative businesses that fit in with what MWE are currently doing. He mentioned possibly looking at comps where production could be switched to MWE's Indian facility, and savings achieved thru lowering their costs. Note he has been on lockout for potential investments for a while, but hasn't found anything that matches his price expectations yet, so I feel that bodes well for when/if MWE does invest.
