05/9/2003 16:49 | Good find cableguy00 "CAVUTO: So your days at Vivendi, outside of the largest single investor, are gone. BRONFMAN: My days at Vivendi were gone when I resigned from Vivendi, that was 18 months ago and became only a board member." So if Junior's time at Vivendi is limited, what about Dad? There's gonna be a huge amount of cash looking for somewhere to invest. Maybe we'll get a few crumbs - that's all we need. :) | guydaynes
05/9/2003 16:23 | Interview transcript with Edgar Jnr by Fox News yesterday. Worth a light read: Enjoy weekend All ;-) | cableguy00
03/9/2003 21:59 | Re: My Post 1538 >>>> Detraction, please ignore... Was looking at wrong RNS. Sorry ;-( | cableguy00
03/9/2003 16:16 | 5 mil buys nice | irwinthegreat
03/9/2003 15:43 | So Fred is upping his stake then ?? Only 26 odd million to go.... Yeah baby... | cableguy00
03/9/2003 11:27 | Becoming more & more convinced this will improve considerably over the next few weeks. Again, don't ask why as I have no idea, just a gut feeling. ( It could just be wind though! ) | bungeetrader
03/9/2003 11:18 | Mmmm...that's a nice little 2.6M delayed one just gone through. The spread (highest for ages) doesn't seem to have bothered them either. | cableguy00
03/9/2003 07:22 | Courtesy of NY Times: Link plus a couple of excerpts. Deal not certain but looks pretty sure to go ahead. I agree with Bungee in that it should work out just as well for us in the longer term, which has always been the view I have taken on MBF anyway. In-so-far-as the shareprice is concerned, how many are going to stay in now until after the name-change is effected?? Expect dumping today... Have a good 'un All... "For Vivendi, the proposed deal represents the most definitive step yet in its effort to unwind the media empire assembled by its former chief executive, Jean-Marie Messier. The preliminary agreement also appears to dash the hopes of Edgar Bronfman Jr., the Seagram heir who had mounted his own bid to regain control of the assets his family sold Vivendi just three years ago." "Despite the preliminary agreement, which ends a months-long auction that included more than half a dozen bidders, details of a final pact remain to be worked out over the next month and the deal could still collapse." "Vivendi's decision to accept preliminarily a deal that leaves it with a major stake in the business is a reversal of the company's stated intention to sell the entire company for cash." "Initially, Vivendi is not getting anywhere close to what they think the assets are worth," said Harold Vogel, an independent analyst who follows media companies. "This is a play on how the stock market and the world economy will grow over the next three to five years." | cableguy00
02/9/2003 19:07 | Take a look at Campmus Media (CPM). Launched early 2002 at around 65p and has fallen from 35p over last few weeks to 18p due to short term funding problems. The order book is strong and funding looks to have been resolved. Very few shares in circulation as the majority are tightly held. CPM will move quickly when buying starts and it is unlikely sellers will appear until 35p-40p range. Good luck. | sheffu
02/9/2003 18:18 | Thats that then, Vivendi have gone with NBC. For some strange reason I feel this is actually the best outcome for MBF. I can't explain it, I just think this will work out better in the long run. | bungeetrader
02/9/2003 10:41 | It ain't over just yet but now very much looks like the Bronfman consortium won't be the successful bidder for the Vivendi assets. A link with one of the world's largest media companies would have been nice, but looks like it isn't to be. Still, maybe now Dad will be able to turn his attention to his other (proposed) business ventures. | guydaynes
02/9/2003 00:21 | Cable, the first and sixth trades amount to £100 and £1000 respectively ( without costs ). Trade 30 probably amounts to £1000 including costs and 31 approx £1100. Nothing too sinister or unusual in that. Some people buy in round amounts, i.e. 100k shares, 400k, etc, others deal in the money, ie., I want £1000 worth of, etc. | bungeetrader
02/9/2003 00:06 | Now looking at the individual trades, it's looking like as soon as there are tranches of 300K+ available, they're being shifted. Particularly interesting (well to me anyway) are the very first and the sixth trades - either a silly mistake of someone looking for a specific amount - note they normally trade in multiples of 1000, not odd amounts. Also trades 30 and 31 look like a specific order - anyone else know what to make of it?? | cableguy00
01/9/2003 20:00 | SSEAJACK, found it eventually!! Chief Executive takes maiden stake in Mobile Future (MBF.L). in the Daily Express. | bungeetrader
01/9/2003 17:28 | Final comment for the day/week - testament to the whole thing today with the small tick up on the bid and it holding to the end of trading, looks to me like the MMs don't even know what to make of the situation but happy enough to leave an open forum and at least have it as a tradable equity. Evidenced by the tight spread but stable offer price - we might possibly compare it to errrr..... don't really know...lol... Don't care at the mo' for any fluctuations and will re-visit once the VUE deal is concluded. One parting point to bear in mind - As I say, I look at negatives firstly before investing and if the VUE thing doesn't go Ed Jnr's way, that could be looked on as negative in-so-far-as supposition of a link-up with MBF (soon to be Bella Media) may be concerned. BUT... Both Ed Jnr and Ed Snr have stepped off the board of VUE once the auction/bid process began. If the Bronfman family were to no longer have an active interest in VUE, I'm pretty confident they would pursue other avenues. The fact that Ed Jnr was able to get a consortium of such clout together for this VUE process plus even more worldwide notoriety gained in the meantime, means that (well, to me anyway) if he fails in this bid, the whole investment world will be keeping a keen eye on what his next plan might be... That's the way I see it, and I find it no harm that Ed Snr is involved on Our Board. Ed Jnr might even want to join in the fun if he's got nothing better to do?? Holding long... Be Good All... | cableguy00
01/9/2003 11:50 | Only comment I can offer to the day so far is that now there are buys going through at full price of 0.3p and the fact that they were being offered for less up to this could possibly indicate a stock overhang being cleared. Now, I know shag all about overhangs but it always seems to lead to a rise once it's been cleared. Knew there was something I had to read up on...lol... | cableguy00
01/9/2003 11:38 | Cheers cableguy00, I know its no big deal, it's just that there seems to be quite a few trades going through today and I can't find any reason. ( Not that I don't want it to rise! ) | bungeetrader
01/9/2003 11:16 | BungeeTrader > don't panic matey, I'm sure there are a few about. This tiny move, though it looks positive and generating a bit of volume, is really no big deal. Can just as easily take a step back imho. Fred Weinert's purchase the other day was really only pocket-money and the fact that himself and Steven Crisman will be getting a big chunk of the new setup companies anyway, he can't lose either way. If, however, he increases his holding by another 30M or so in the next few days before the name-change then that indeed will be something to shout about but in the meantime it's just as well to stand by the sidelines and let things run their course. Have a good 'un Regards | cableguy00
01/9/2003 11:01 | Hellooooooooo....... Is there any one there...????????? Anyway, buys gradually paying a little more and more. Fractions of a penny I know but a good sign. | bungeetrader |
