25/8/2003 13:42 | Being a bank holiday your local newsagent may still have a copy of the Business weekley. Ditched mine - worth the read though to draw your own conclusions but not really unreasonable to figure that Cablevision could be used to produce the shows for the IMAX idea...'What a thought' is right - Good to see some of ye posting a few relevant links, catch ye around. Be Good ;-) | cableguy00

25/8/2003 11:10 | If anyone got The Business yesterday - All over the front page. Throwing a very favourable light on Ed Jnr's bid. Shouldn't have long to wait now for the outcome. The article also mentions intentions of Bronfman and Cablevision to have a joint venture with a 'new company' - wonder who that might be? Hope Y'all had a good weekend | cableguy00

19/8/2003 18:49 | Does the RNS mean that the shares have been transferred to Savoy Investment from SG. Could it be that Pacific Media are lining up to purchase the shares a la RNS 19/6/2003? | ranoszek
19/8/2003 18:16 | cableguy how will us laymen manage without someone to decipher all this technical jargon and analysis ?.i read every post.also still holding these shares. | sseajack
19/8/2003 18:08 | Cheers L/t but gotta hand over to anyone else who wants to make the effort - fingers in other pies... Point in case... you didn't appear to notice this release (don't mean to be offish) which came out at 17.17. At least you declare an interest, unlike others. Good on Ya dude. I have a heap of respect for that!! Savoy Investment Management Limited have their own fingers in so many pies, this release doesn't mean anything except that they 'may' have been approached to hand over their stake - note that no sum was disclosed as to what price they sold at... though the wording is somewhat ambiguous.. See Ya The Board of MobileFuture has been notified that following the transfer of management of certain funds, Savoy Investment Management Limited are interested in 109,700,000 ordinary shares of 0.1p each (representing 9.22% of the issued share capital of the Company). Following the transfer, SG Investment Management no longer have a notifiable interest in the Company's issued share capital. | cableguy00
19/8/2003 17:52 | Cable, I'm STILL lurking and not bored of your article links! Keep em coming. Noticed Sky News reported 4 bidders today. | londonthing
19/8/2003 17:03 | Will not post tomorrow, y'all must be bored with the article links I've been putting on here, busy elsewhere anyway... Just keep an eye on stuff for yourselves for anything to do with Bronfman Family involvement with VUE with a 'vue' to MBF... Signing off... Be Good All... | cableguy00
19/8/2003 07:51 | PARIS (AFX) - Vivendi Universal has put back the final bid deadline for its Vivendi Universal Entertainment business until Wednesday and is looking for offers in the range 12-15 bln usd, according to a report in La Tribune. Citing a source close to the matter the newspaper said the company aims to get a total of four firm bids. The original deadline was yesterday. The source said that apart from NBC, Viacom Inc and a consortium of investors headed by Edgar Bronfman Jr, Vivendi also hopes to see Liberty Media back in the bidding. ComCast Corp confirmed this week it is no longer interested in buying the assets. La Tribune said that of the 12-15 bln usd it hopes to raise, 2-5 bln should be in cash and include 2 bln of debt. The company hopes to announce exclusive talks or a final decision following its board meeting on August 26, the report said. paris@afxnews.com dl/jfr | cableguy00
19/8/2003 07:50 | Courtesy of New York Times - reporting that VUE have received bids from Edgar Bronfman Jnr's consortium and Liberty Media (John Malone's vehicle). A further article also appeared on RNS this morning (next post) showing the deadline to be extended to Wednesday (tomorrow)... | cableguy00
19/8/2003 00:35 | 333k is only a 1 grand, not significant l2 next stop 0.41p, but this could a long time to achieve | irwinthegreat
19/8/2003 00:10 | Cable, I'm still lurking. Your research/posts are appreciated! What do you think that 333,333 buy is about? Someone buying 333,333 or a signal to FILL YER BOOTS??? | londonthing
18/8/2003 21:46 | Latest tonite on the VUE saga They appear to be limiting Ed Jnr's consortium bid chances but one point to note is if they go the IPO direction, this may possibly open the door even wider for Ed Jnr - think about it for a mo'... He could well become a major stakeholder if they did actually float and with much less outlay than the consortium's money-bag would have to risk under the current situation... IMHO only dyor and thinking ;-) | cableguy00
18/8/2003 14:01 | L/t > cheers pal ;-) That 333k could be poster 'Feelinlucky' (whom I've filtered for now) - he had been trading in lots of 999k... As Irwin suggests, nothing significant really. Haven't seen any signals on this stock before anyway but if there will be one, I'd suspect it'll be a single-share buy or sell before 10am simply because that's what used to happen with PCM...really!! A single sell (so the theory was between us when I held PCM) appeared to preceed a big buy later on, and the opposite with a single buy - weird... Have a good 'un Regards. NMT + EPO doing ok today, I got both.dyor | cableguy00
15/8/2003 16:23 | Irwin, just do a google/yahoo/etc.. search on vivendi - you'll get the latest (mostly) news on who's in or out from whatever international/nation However on Bloomberg TV today there was a bit more coverage than normal so maybe they'll take more of an interest in the coming days now that VUE have put more-or-less a solid deadline on the whole bidding thing. Have a good weekend all... nice little move up today... ;-) | cableguy00 |
