08/9/2016 09:05 | I agree JMF it's frustrating. The only thing I will say is that previously there's been a strong pipeline of news in the run up to fundraising....obvio | gozo
08/9/2016 08:30 | Been over 2 months since the last rns. How long before they need to raise more cash? There's been no trading update and we have no idea the trading performance. | jmf69

30/8/2016 18:26 | Very well written piece sinkyj. I agree with most of the points you have made. I certainly wouldn't write off a tiddler like LWRF. I'll continue to watch with interest. | michaelmouse
30/8/2016 18:09 | And it's the "who knows" that has kept us here waiting for so long. Let's hope the mgt team can deliver. | nar1
30/8/2016 18:00 | Good article MM, agree with a huge amount of what you say, especially regarding divergent and random strategy. But as you say, you don't know the products or the market especially well, so a few further points. 1) "Only" 1% rise in homes installing Smart Lighting equates 250,000 new UK customers. LightwaveRF have about 25,000 maybe 30,000 hubs installed total. So depending how you look at it, not done very well or potentially a huge amount of scope for more sales with the *RIGHT* product. What would it take to break even? and double or treble the puny valuation? 5/10% of those next year? This isn't Philips, so the macro state of the global IOT market is of interest, but not completely relevant. 2) IOT is not just lights and Thermostats. not long ago oil was heading for $200 a barrel heating bill were going through the roof, it's now $30, that has really killed the thermostat market and solar with it. You can't blame companies for falling foul of that. However, other needs remain, security IOT products have done very well. You don't have to be 20 to know that it's useful getting a message that your alarm has gone off, knowing what's wrong then seeing the cat and being able to reset it. Even better no PIN code anymore just tap your phone as you come in. And no, being 50 I might not go off to B&Q and buy something to do that. Alarms are typically put in by installers, so the friction to a sale of a smart product is much lower. Also, recurring revenue for monitoring is the norm. See the latest pivot of the company. They may get lucky. The key word in that paragraph was needs, needs are easier to sell to than wants. I work for, and have founded a few IOT companies in my time, including one that sells chips to General Motors to put in connected cars and others for fans, garage doors. I can't tell you how many chips, but you'd be surprised. I live in China/HK and see hundreds of new products waiting to come to the UK market, not all duds. Google "ring", that did quite well. Yes, it can take time but it's also true that yesterday's wants can very quickly become today's needs, so I would't write off IOT, per say, in your investments. You are totally correct about crazy valuations, but is £4million for IOT company with a track record and products crazy?.Always assuming they get their act together at some point? Small company, so change a few key positions and who knows? | sinkyj
26/8/2016 08:31 | Maybe we have escaped one of these | nar1

01/8/2016 19:07 | Yes interesting times within this sector. The paragraph below is taken from the recent fundraising RNS. 'The additional funding will be used to further accelerate the company's strategy of connecting to other IoT platforms.' | gozo
01/8/2016 14:55 | MM seem to have picked up the stock to have covered the larger buy. MM - Slowly clearing the decks of those that still remain negative while picking up blocks for a buyer it appears. | clocktower
01/8/2016 13:28 | Thanks for the link update minipne_pm - I guess they could have large commercial installs in the pipeline and as you say, maybe Homekit news at long last. So that could be the reason that the share price is moving up and a larger buy is showing up. Be interesting to see if the next buy pushes other MM up, as I just checked on-line and the best quote I could get was 15.9p for 5k. | clocktower
01/8/2016 13:22 | Commercial appilcations Think they should have done a spell check! | greenrichard |
