30/4/2010 21:05 | gordon brown has just admitted talking to paxman that in their plans for next year they would be moving spending from road to RAIL, so they pull jrvs in before this happens to ensure jrvs did not prosper, this needs looking into legally as jrvs have been stitched up as the unions have stated. Time for the legals and lawsuits to start imho. Time for action. Lets hope the tories get in as I will be contacting them personally to look into the burdale asset back funding and nwr not letting jrvs use the chiltern contract as an asset. This could be an excellent way of the tories scalping a few labour mp and peers. Especially with Norris' knowledge of the situation. regards active | srpactive

30/4/2010 12:21 | 600 Jarvis staff 'have been paid' 10:00am Friday 30th April 2010 Print Email Share Comments(1) ABOUT 600 workers at collapsed York-based rail maintenance firm Jarvis have now received their redundancy payments, according to the Government. The figure was released as the RMT union announced it is considering whether to take legal action over delays in releasing the money following the company's slide into administration more than a month ago. The Government's Insolvency Service said hundreds of workers should have received their payments either yesterday or on Wednesday, and that the hold-ups were due to problems deciphering Jarvis' company records. It also claimed it was still awaiting details of the payments which have yet to be finalised from administrators Deloitte. Jarvis' demise led to the loss of 1,200 jobs, including 350 in York Scores of workers travelled to London this week to demonstrate outside Network Rail's headquarters, calling for the firm to reallocate former Jarvis contracts to other companies and re-hire its employees on the same terms and conditions. | srpactive
30/4/2010 12:14 | Yes we all agree it stinks, even the unions have said it has been a stitch up, with all that said I am sure some big hitters who have been caught out by this will have their legals lined up to highlight the situation and request compensation. All just hope at this stage. regards active | srpactive
29/4/2010 19:12 | Not a holder but live in york......just been to price some work for a client. Network rail said he had to have work done to trees, spoke to bloke at Net rail said had to use their contractors,The dip stick sent me a copy of an internal email by mistake. It is from the contractor to net rail Quote "thanks for the lead will contact the landowner and see he we can't generate some extra income" Net rail have always paid their contractors to do this type of work.It now looks like they are threating people and gererating income for their contractors for work they should be paying for themselves. It stinks, all copied and going to the papers and Hugh Bailey MP for york (not for long I hope though lol) | unimog

22/4/2010 09:17 | nevermind compensation for the airlines, jrvs should get compensation from the government for stopping the renewals and cp4 then not supporting them allowing chiltern to be an assett to get working capital from burdale, this is pure madness. dyor | srpactive
21/4/2010 13:02 | srpactive, When the history books get written about the current period I suspect that it will reveal no end of dirty dealing by Broons aparatchiks to give enormous advantage to the Banks that were bailed out, desperate to show what a clever investment Broon made. It's all about maintaining and enhancing the power and privileges of the executive, the people don't count for anything, the Equitable Life scandal is the hallmark of Nu Laber. One Gordon Brown, morally (with lessons from Blair) and economically bankcrupt. | lefrene
