Helphire Director APB appointed to the board of Quartix:

As a new chairman is appointed, award-winning vehicle tracking supplier Quartix announces a record 60% sales growth for 2013.

With both its fleet and insurance businesses performing particularly strongly over the last year, sales were up by an unprecedented 60% in 2013, reaching a turnover of just over £13 million.

Quartix installed more than 40,000 tracking systems in the UK in 2013, and continued to attract businesses with its renowned customer service and comprehensive system. The web-based system offers leading driving-style monitoring and utilisation reports alongside its core tracking features, and is backed by flexible contract terms and dedicated support from its UK-based team.

Notable recent customer wins include Shearing Group's 265-strong fleet of coaches, Sharp Business Systems UK Plc and traffic management specialists Amberon Limited.

Quartix also introduced product developments as a result of its ongoing R&D, including architecture changes to optimise user experience, improved Utilisation Suite reports and its new mobile application, now available to download on Apple, Windows and Android devices.

Alongside its fleet business, Quartix continued to establish itself as a leading provider of telematics for the pay-as-you-drive insurance market in the UK, with a significant increase in volumes for several insurers.

One has to conjecture:
IS THIS A POSSIBLE ACQUISITION TARGET

ARE HELPHIRE MOVING ALONG THE SAME PATH AS QUINDELL QPP

The latter would address any fleet optimisation issues that HelpHire might have but also present an "in" to vehicle tracking generally and Insurance Markets. The T/O of Quartix would suggest that it could be valued at circa £10million maybe less depending on profitability but Well within HelpHire's acquisition budget range. A good fit No a Very Good Fit if this is an intended target??

Quartix welcomes new chairman

Published: 27 March, 2014

Vehicle tracking supplier Quartix has announced the appointment of Avril Palmer-Baunack as non-executive chairman.

Ms Palmer-Baunack is a very well-respected figure in the fleet industry, with a wealth of international experience in the insurance, automotive and logistics sectors.

Andy Walters, managing director of Quartix, said: "We are delighted to welcome Avril Palmer-Baunack to the board. She will play an important role in helping to guide the company's strategy in its growth and international expansion."

Ms Palmer-Baunack is currently also chairman of both Helphire and Molins, and a finalist in this year's Sunday Times Non-Executive Director Awards. Her previous roles include chief executive officer of Autologic Holdings and Universal Salvage, and managing director of FMG Support. Earlier positions in her career included management roles at EuropcarUK, Northgate Motor Holdings and the Caudwell Group.

"I am very pleased to join Quartix and excited by the potential that it has for further development in both the fleet and insurance sectors," she said.

Taken from LSE thread
Top spot that mate! Yup APB has been appointed non-exec chair for Quartix on 20.03.14, the vehicle tracking supplier company who have their eyes on international market and have reported record sales for 2013..

Without knowing the reasons behind her accepting the offer, it is early days to predict what could happen with either of the companies certainly good for QUARTIX!
