07/12/2001 00:24 | CWA1 As always the MMs' spreads are 5p. There is only CAZR on bid, and only MLSB on offer - so really not much can be told from Level 2. Any price movement will be dependent on what trades come in - wouldn't take much to move the price either way. CAZR ticked up at 11:25, with no published trades to account for it - so possibly there is a SPT - But I think it is more likely they just wanted to get on the bid - so perhaps looking for shares. NMS is 5,000, but several MMs will trade 10,000. All my interpretation, and could well be wrong, of course! Richard Dawson [Goatherd] | goatherd
06/12/2001 14:35 | Richard Thanks very much for the info.See it has ticked back down again anyway,so I presume they are not that hungry. Appreciated anyway(if you ever happen to see anything change dramatically in the spreads please feel free to tell us :-)). CWA1 | cwa1
06/12/2001 11:38 | Hi all Still all quiet on the Grampian front.Still at least the share price isn't crumbling,so far, because of the delay. I notice that the bid has ticked up 1p today despite desultory volume for days now.Does that mean that someone is trying to get hold of some stock? Anybody got Level 2 to let us know how the MM spreads look at the moment or if there are any trades lined up out there. Please, pretty please :-) | cwa1
01/12/2001 09:41 | sadly,NO but at least the cash is safe- and the interim divi is paid out on the 2-dec.I cant get a date from Grampian, theyre very tight lipped about as and when.Good luck.JAX. | jaxaxe
29/11/2001 16:13 | jaxaxe I agree. I can only see upside for this company and I see more and more of the lorries each day. I just wish they would announce the special dividend soon. Do you think we'll have it for Christmas? | micos
25/11/2001 11:44 | Im holding GRMP,Im quite positive that it doesnt move over to the, better rated transport sector until next month. The prospects for the company seem excellent. | jaxaxe
23/11/2001 18:32 | Yes they are, at last we may see some news. They must have made a few quid on the capital. | 8 ball
23/11/2001 13:27 | I'm a holder. Up 4.5% today. Looking fwd to return of capital but when and how much? Notice Salvesen up sharply yeserday. Aren't these companies in same business now? | greatwhitehope
23/11/2001 13:24 | I'm a holder. Up 4.5% today. | greatwhitehope
23/11/2001 10:59 | Things are moving at last. There was similar movement back in June when the return of capital was announced. Looks like payday is imminent, but there have been alarms and excursions before. | micos
23/11/2001 10:38 | Bid and offer both moving up nicely so far today.Relatively small volume, but all buys.Anybody know what is going on?Has there been a leak of iminent news,or is there a buyer in the wings? Something seems to be happening. | cwa1
21/11/2001 00:23 | Micos, I'm a holder and watching closely but it is very quiet. | greatwhitehope
20/11/2001 10:56 | Still quiet on the Eastern front! Any news or decent rumours out there? | micos
01/11/2001 08:38 | CWA1 Agreed. Micos | micos
31/10/2001 17:25 | Micos It is clearly too late to get in on the interim dividend. However,it is not too late to benefit from whatever Grampian announce for the special dividend/cashback/bu Personally I think there is still a lot of mileage to be had in this one yet. Cheers CWA1 | cwa1
31/10/2001 13:49 | The shares are shown as XD today, so it is too late to get in. It's heartening to see some discussion at last on Grampian, thank you for your information John Skint Smith. I shall hold and await events with interest. All todays trades have been sells cashing in on the dividend. Regards to all local holders of GRMP. | micos
31/10/2001 13:27 | Well, as a holder I am bound to say I shall wait and see. js. | jacsom
31/10/2001 10:24 | The following are comments from the iii board "Company comments and brokers reports suggest share buy back of 45m. They say that could be approx, 50m shares at 90p.However key question is what will be resulting share price and ongoing dividend." "Where have you got the news of a share buyback from, I have not seen anything in the press or any info from the company. I understood that the £45m was to be returned to shareholders at 38p per share." "Chairman at e.g.m.and also at interim stated that they would discuss with shareholders best way to return cash. Cannot see anyone wanting cash dividend most I believe would prefer capital reduction hence capital repayment. In a brokers report at time of disposal of retail, Charterhouse Tilney suggested a buy back at around 90p.All this has been public for some time." "E mailed them today to ask for details on buy back. A circular to shareholders is in the process of being drawn up - I would not wish to comment until then. John D Douglas Deputy Company Secretary" It follows that a share buyback cannot proceed until the shares have gone ex-dividend! GRMP would in effect be paying themselves a divi on the stock they acquired!! Last day to get in before this stock soars to 90p+ !!! | jon skint smith
31/10/2001 09:43 | "The Board will write to all shareholders shortly setting out the proposals for returning cash, and expects the cash to be returned later this year." Point 1, "shortly" - has so far been over a month! Point 2, "later this year" - only two months left! Anywho, if there is truth in the share mag piece that the equivalent of 50% of issued shares are going to be bought back instead of giving the current shareholders a special dividend equivalent to 40p (50% yield!!), this stock is going to fly in the near future dispite the periodic minor penny setbacks of late. It does suprise me that there is little to no discussion regarding this or even the stock in general on the BB's...... | jon skint smith
25/10/2001 19:28 | Picking up nicely this week, expect word on share buy back soon. | 8 ball
23/10/2001 21:06 | .... think that's Grampian Foods and no connection | jeff h
23/10/2001 20:39 | Questor of The Daily Telegraph makes chilled foods concern Uniq a stock to avoid despite the fact shares added 4p to 124p on news it has sold its Malton pig-slaughtering business to Grampian for £33.5m. Questor observes the stock tumbled by a third after a severe profits warning last month and says there are still questions hanging over Uniq’s future – specifically at its St Ivel business, due to the highly competitive yoghurt market. The Financial Times reports the Malton disposal cleared the way for an approach from a financial buyer and comments there could be an upside for prospective investors willing to take a chance. Just read this on nothing ventured. Anyone know anything about it, and what effect it would have on Grampian shares. (Or is it some other Grampian) | sscrabble
14/10/2001 13:32 | Sunday times tipped today. Grampian Holdings: Interim results were as expected, with the Malcolm Group delivering a solid performance in the first half. The company will rename itself the Malcolm Group and will be reclassified as a transport/logistics company. Bell Lawrie White says the market is substantially undervaluing the firm and the shares are a buy. | 8 ball
12/10/2001 09:58 | Hang on, so the cash is not going to be returned to the shareholders directly but is going to be used to buy back shares??!!! The price is going to rocket, buying back 50% of all issued shares! | jon skint smith
11/10/2001 19:14 | Article in share mag that share buy back will start soon. Company will use £45 million for the buy back. | 8 ball |
