09/1/2017 20:19 | losses - well, nice that you are honest and admit it . Me too until i became a convert to charts about 15 years ago . If I stick to OAAT . I win on almost every trade but I lack discipline at times and stray from that principle and can get hit . human nbature takes over but we must trade like a machine . GLEN is a really good trade most days recently and sometimes I do the BHR policy on this stock and usually pays off . But nothing wrong with studying the fundamentals if you have time but I do not nowadays . | arja
09/1/2017 19:53 | I think I,ll have to go with Losses on this, the classic example of chartism failing badly was the tech boom some years ago, a bit before my trading days, where all these high Tech stocks were just going up and up on no real solid fundamental value, just what might be, people were just piling into a rocket propelled chart, then boom, it all fell back to earth, there must have been a lot of snashing of teeth when that happened I would say the best way to trade is to use BOTH, and that,s No guarantee of Not getting wiped out either . | dremel

09/1/2017 10:10 | Arja, I have lost loads in the past hence the profile name LOL. I don't claim to get it right all the time. For me the good fundamentals always win in the end. | losses
09/1/2017 09:42 | really pleased with Glencore resilience this morning - I have not got the link - but good article in weekend ft - written by aime Williams re Miners and first half prospects for 2017 I am confident that unless we have a major geopolitical event - Glencore will have a good 3 -6 mnths. Alcoa out today in states - interesting as reinforces sentiment with big institutions re materials last 2 qtrs. been disappointing be momentum shift if forward guidance is strong. The iron ore downgrade this morning is less critical for glencore - but Aussie got it wrong last year Dr Copper is key to having another phenomenal year -- emerging markets more resilient than last year and China still engine driving housing copper usage not relenting The amount of cash the big miners have made in last 6 months will surprise the markets when results announced - and glencore has Glasenburg who like Trump is a deal maker / gambler my june target is still £350 | russell250
09/1/2017 09:11 | losses- yes , I agree that preferable to buy a share with a nice looking chart and witn good fundamentals but takes a lot of time to study both . I would still rather be in a share with a good looking chart but questionable fundamentals than a share with bad looking chart and good fundamentals . works well for me using derivative product anyway but more than one way to make money . | arja
09/1/2017 09:08 | arja, you know full well, some people may mistake a dew drop for a crystal ball. This is as good as it gets, so the next best thing is more words that can drive chart patterns, i'd lend 'you' an ear, but i've only got two that works, and they, attached, with blood circulation pumped with path to least resistance, as far as i'm aware, there are no blockages, otherwise there would be less energy flow, and as a consequence rerouting, causing cellular malnutrition and deviation from norm. Wait for next post. Enjoy your day. Do you take it up the gary | leonasdad
09/1/2017 08:58 | Arja, I have used charts for 15 years... I still have a peep but don't solely base my decision on charts.News, fundamentals, geopolitical events, cycles blah blah... should all be used along with charts | losses
09/1/2017 08:58 | kooba- thanks for posting that article . GLEN seems to be unaffected and still in short term uptrend . | arja
09/1/2017 08:56 | losses - could not disagree more. Of course I would prefer to have a crystal ball but much too expensive - charts are the next best thing and work well most of the time , WHY not do some research on charts before making such a statement which is based on ignorance - sorry but that is so . | arja
06/1/2017 09:45 | Charts are mostly hindsight... it's guesswork what will really happen..Let's us all admit sharedealing is always a gamble... you win some you lose some | losses

05/1/2017 15:21 | losses - not really as I made a nice trade yesterday and today as GLEN bounces up and down a fair bit and enough for a nice profit after commissions using CFDs . Of course not possible if trading the physical shares . 300 is on the cards soon methinks ! | arja
05/1/2017 08:34 | Arja you going to miss the boat again... 350 before April me thinks | losses
04/1/2017 11:24 | bit tempting to buy GLEN today on a bad day but best to wait and see how DOW and US markets perform after 2.30pm ! | arja
