it is crispin odey.
he lost 50% of his 3.5bn fund last year.
he kept open a huge short position on glen.

he charges 2+20% of profits for his brilliance.
so presumably he charges only 2% last year for losing 50%.
if he is up 10% next year he will charge 2% + (20% x 10) = 4% total.

nice work if you can get it.

Did anyone else notice a report in today's Sun Tel. business p.3 quoting one of London's biggest hedge funds 'still has a short position against Glencore worth £412m'? My gut feeling is that, if correct, now is not a good time to be holding such a large short position. I would be interested to hear what others think.

A correction maybe due in the markets but I think GLEN has come back for a reason... solid well managed company..The divi announced for this year will stabilise the share price as the institutional fundies will start to buy back in.

I'm out. Almost got to break-even which is not bad given what a disaster this stock has been. Think the stock market is due a correction at some point so didn't want to risk not getting my money back here.

USA is good to see overnight reaction but when it comes to miners I prefer to check the ASX.. usually a better indicator.
