at volatile times such as now with the US election , quite dangerous and even maybe not smart to just hold stock I would say and why I prefer to make money trading. But each to his own and more than one way of making money !

wush I had a quicker finger with this stock but got out at 247.05 and not a bad day trade . Might well close above that level having now pulled back but delends partly on what wall street does up to 4.30pm ! good luck to those who hold it .

Nothing special about that little drop -- I expect 200 - 260p as the new trading range into new year. Will close shorts and buy more around 210/220p level. Happy to wait.

I am selling out the Glencore positions I opened sub-100p. Got some limit orders at 251/261/266 :-)

SYDNEY--Glencore PLC (GLEN.LN) said it will restart a shuttered coal mine in Australia it purchased last year from Vale SA (VALE) to meet strong demand for coal used in steelmaking.The miner and commodities trader said it expects to resume mining at the Integra underground coal operation, formerly known as Glennies Creek, from early 2017 for two years.

I agree buy on downtrend as I stated. Buy on dips too. But since January the overall trend has been upwards and WILL continue to be until at least £5+ is attained. so whether you buy today at £2.50 or when the share price is £3 it does not matter in the bigger theme of things.............. If £5 is your goal. any purchase will result in profits!

gxgxx- what you suggest us a NO NO normally and much better to add on uptrend . It is a different thing to add on a bad day IF the share price is in uptrend as it is now, eg to add when it dipped to 238 .

Dremel - A bit of hardlines on your purchase. I do not understand why you did not buy on the downward trend in the positive view of doubling up when the price improved. You should have believed in your original instincts. I have done this in the passed and sometimes been richly rewarded. At least you should have invested more once the corner was turned at the start of this year.

Others and anyone else - £2.50+ broached again and this time we should hope that it stays above this physchological barrier long enough for the big players to push the price forwards and upwards. £5 is not such an unsurmountable target now in the scheme of things. It is 'only' a 100% increase on the current price, nothing really compared to 70p to £2.50 (300%) which has been achieved in a little over 9 months.

Dividend - A return to a dividend being paid 2017. This is an absolute certainty and a must. The announcement for this could be only days away. This will add a few pence to the current share price ;-)))

dremel- but GLEN has a nice uptrending chart albeit on a fairly short term basis .Heading for at least 300 I think but might be pullback on the way and of course it needs the US markets to stay firm .

Wow, as someone said, "the share that keeps giving", I wonder how much longer ?.
Hopefully I can get my money back, bought 4666 at 370p, saw it go down to 60p, at times thought it was going down the tubes, but held on hopes one day. Watched it go no where for years except down of course .
If it ever reaches 370 again, I expect I wont sell, greed and fear are strong forces .

The S&P 500 continued a three-day losing streak on Thursday, its longest since the second week of September. But things should be looking up for the stock market as Friday marks the beginning of the best five sessions of the year, historically.

Closed the shorts -- finally I am slightly long again. The recent volatility has been useful for me to double up the shorts and close em --- just lucky there was no takeover of glencore in the meantime !!!
