Just to give you an idea as to how GLEN is bring production back into line with supply and demand..............

Glencore reported a significant fall in output for most of its products in the first half of the year after closing mines in response to a rout in prices.

Production of copper, which made up most of its revenue, dropped 4% while coal saw a 14% decline and zinc a 31% tumble.

Glencore also increased its full-year estimate for copper output due to strong performance from its Collahuasi mine and trimmed its coal prediction.

To much QE cash in the markets and where you have negitive yields V shares with a dividend yield of say 3% and a chance for gain then maybe that is what is happening............just a thought!!

Not wishing to rain on anyone's parade, but when I post, which is not often, I like to think its of some interest even if its wrong, .
I think there is a saying ?, a "High Tide Raises All Boats", even the dogs.
This applies to the FTSE which seems to have gone mental for no discernible reason I can see ?, but then again, they say the trend is your friend ?, so fingers crossed it continues ?, but I wont hold my breath .

I am not in the know - but as we near updates - I expect some additional news on a disposal - this is normal trend
maybe gold mine r rail network as rumoured of late

technically should have no real resistance to 225/230 but current poor world pmi/gdp not helping combined with oil decline

rio good news flow plus still paying divi

with so few options to invest safely - with such poor returns worldwide - basic materials and china spending - driving some commodities - I am still in for a while -

Metal prices and oil have risen and Glen's debt has been reduced, so doesn't that make the company worth ALOT more?

TSMITH........can you tell us why you think GLEN is suddenly worth £2.50 per share?

Is there something in the metals and mining world you know and could share with us which will make GLEN shoot up to your "clear blue skies" price?

Remember that GLEN still needs asset sales to reduce its debt and management is working on this all the time in what can best be described as a topsy trvey trading world.......
