30/3/2006 08:55 | as mentioned, I have a short term target of 150 but I am not sure what the upside is from there, although I doubt if Oppenhein and co would be happy with anything under 250 just for the operating side of the business excl the property development part, which is only two to three times return on the original capital (depending on how you look at the various dilutions) over five plus years. No need to sell at the moment, any way... | tooredtobleed
30/3/2006 08:33 | That's better - looks like we're off again! | siskinbird
29/3/2006 15:07 | Spread now a ludicrous 5p. | siskinbird
28/3/2006 14:00 | price on the rise again as suspected, didn't buy any more myself as cash is fully invested at the moment but not complaining | tooredtobleed
28/3/2006 11:40 | Yes, I'd wondered about that too. Another of my holdings (Forth Ports, FPT) has attracted speculation about floating its property interests, but I don't really know enough about REITs to form a sensible view about how likely it is in GGA's case. It certainly seems possible and I'm sure they will be exploring the options. After all, this is what we were told in the first para of the Chairman's statement in the results:- "We have made good progress in assessing the redevelopment potential of our freehold properties, a process that is expected to yield considerable sums from the sale of sites over the next 18 months. Indeed, progress has been such that your board expects that it is likely that substantial shareholder value will be released in 2007 either by way of a further refinancing or by a disposal of part or all of our business." | siskinbird
27/3/2006 12:54 | just a thought, would the new REIT's be something Openhein and co might want to do, using the freehold sites as a starting point in a separate co as hinted above (bearing in mind that the 60m bonds are secured against the freehold property, I think, but can be paid off early next year). | tooredtobleed
27/3/2006 12:51 | has to be reassuring that Georgica keep on buying at this level, another 4ok on friday and the price has now risen slightly back to the 1p spread, which I always like as it indicates a good chance of another rise about to happen. | tooredtobleed
15/3/2006 11:33 | ..and another 100k shares go into the bin. I think that's 260,000 bought back this year so far - they must be generating some cash. | siskinbird
06/3/2006 03:50 | No press comment so far as I can see, watch out for Shares Magazine when they say buy prob time to sell - they originally recommended ALlied Leisure at 125p a month or so before the takeover and name change to Georgica and decline in price to, er, 30! One possible scenario hinted at in the past, float the snooker/bowling part of the operation on the main listing as a debt free co whilst Georgica remains with the property porfolio. Shareholders would have a diluted holding in the main listing to raise cash to pay off the debt and would still benefit from the property development arm by keeping their shares in Georgica on AIM. Oppenhein certainly has the contacts to pull this off, as shown by the past bond offering which was quite a rare occurence. All depends on what they could get for the slimmed down, mean and lean, debt free snooker/bowling part in an initial listing, of course. | tooredtobleed
03/3/2006 15:26 | It's fascinating this, isn't it? Again, there isn't a great deal of trading, but another good day. This might provoke some press comment over the weekend. | siskinbird
03/3/2006 15:14 | ha, blinked and it moved up again... 150 soonish my prediction but don't bet the pension fund on it | tooredtobleed
03/3/2006 15:12 | back to that nice 1p spread again, moving on up? | tooredtobleed
03/3/2006 10:45 | midprice 122p followed by broker to broker trade at 123p... | tooredtobleed
03/3/2006 10:38 | lots of sells today | tooredtobleed
03/3/2006 08:07 | spread didn't last long | tooredtobleed
03/3/2006 08:01 | nice start, that 1p spread indicates more to come | tooredtobleed
03/3/2006 02:21 | Yeah, I had to look twice, too! Mentioned in one of the mag's or just no-one wanting to sell, close to fifty percent profit for some of the institutions now. As I said before, management expectation for a sell-out price will be a lot higher than 250... not one to trade on the peaks and troughs any more I'd say, just hold on for the ride. | tooredtobleed
02/3/2006 17:28 | Wow, what has happened today? Up over 5% in a couple of minutes, on light trading. Has some news leaked I wonder? Perhaps news of a tip? | siskinbird
01/3/2006 13:19 | Yes, 2red, I'd noticed that - it suggests a high level of confidence that the current price will be maintained, presumably? | siskinbird
01/3/2006 11:41 | Amazing. Georgica still buying their own shares at this level, 50k at 113p! | tooredtobleed
20/2/2006 12:31 | We're off again........but it looks as though the spread is widening. | siskinbird
16/2/2006 16:38 | I'd be amazed if those late trades were sells. Looks good for tomorrow. | siskinbird
16/2/2006 13:59 | 2red, I can't help you re new mm - I don't have level 2. These little nudges up are promising (mainly because of tightening the spread, I know). I like the fact that, as yet, there has been no retracement since the results. If you look at the chart, we seem to be continuing the steady rise that we had from c95-100+ last Aug/Sept. Long may it continue! | siskinbird
16/2/2006 13:12 | spoke too soon, there she goes... up a touch | tooredtobleed
16/2/2006 10:16 | have not seen it hold 1p spread for so long without movement... dont know what it means - new MM? | tooredtobleed |
