05/1/2006 10:28 | Can only assume it's good news rather than bad! | siskinbird
04/1/2006 15:42 | latest rns: "RNS Number:4539W Georgica PLC 04 January 2006 Georgica PLC Georgica announces that it received notification yesterday from North Atlantic Value that they increased their notifiable interest by 640,000 ordinary 5p shares to 19,835,000 ordinary 5p shares (20.22%). Notification was also received yesterday from M&G Investment Management Limited stating that they increased their interest by 699,700 ordinary 5p shares to 12,830,208 ordinary 5p shares (13.08%). End" Wonder what these guys know that we don't? | tooredtobleed
04/1/2006 15:21 | Gone dead for a while but back to 1p spread at 93/94 which more often than not presages a nice little upswing, so maybe top up or buy in now? | tooredtobleed
28/10/2005 15:33 | rns: RNS Number:3332T Georgica PLC 28 October 2005 Georgica PLC Georgica PLC has been notified by Mr Peter Haspel, finance director of the company, that he has today purchased 5,000 ordinary 5p shares at a price of 96.0p giving a total holding of 11,107 (0.011%). Bloody hell, I normally hold more than that! Suppose he has share options tucked away somewhere. | tooredtobleed
27/10/2005 11:14 | all depends on what buying price Georgica sets for the buyback for the next month or so I would guess, silly spread at the moment (4p) | tooredtobleed
26/10/2005 10:53 | Agreed 2red - not the most exciting set of results, but the business is heading in the right direction imo. | siskinbird
26/10/2005 10:17 | okay third quarter results rns with mild outlook for improved trading - does not look like they have anything special up their sleeeves at the moment | tooredtobleed
20/10/2005 14:11 | rns today, another broker change - have not even heard of the new one. suspect share will fall back. | tooredtobleed
17/10/2005 16:22 | Assuming GGA directors will sell for reasonable money... | tooredtobleed
17/10/2005 12:21 | or take over by a larger group which can replace high cost debt with own funds and thereby gain cash flow of 25M per year - market cap only four times cash flow.. | baggywrinkle
17/10/2005 12:07 | Agree siskin - some time off b4 results which will report flat turnover but improved profit. When we hear about planning issues is anyones guess. Real money to be made hear by a private equity firm to buy GGA high cost debt so they can earn a good return on their low cost debt. | twirl
14/10/2005 11:27 | 2red. Much as I'd like to believe your conspiracy theory, I'm not sure there's much going on here. If you look at the last 3 days trading there has been a large trade right at the end of the day - a T trade on 2 of the days I think. I'd say that the MMs are just accommodating these large trades. There's not enough volume otherwise to make much difference. Now if it turned out that they were actually short of stock and were altering the spread to encourage some sells - well that would be interesting! Time will tell. I hold and feel happy enough to continue to do so. | siskinbird
13/10/2005 16:42 | maybe they are creeping this share up in tiny increments so it does not merit any press mention????????????? | tooredtobleed
13/10/2005 16:37 | not complaining but the spread is back to 2p so no great up tomorrow. | tooredtobleed
13/10/2005 11:19 | Slowly but surely | twirl
12/10/2005 13:13 | 99/101 getting there | tooredtobleed
07/10/2005 16:30 | if the spread gets to 100/101 I would suggest buying as much as u can afford to lose... at the moment it is like getting blood out of stone... | tooredtobleed
03/10/2005 10:40 | It was North Atlantic who now have over 17%. | twirl
30/9/2005 14:32 | someone just paid a 100p a share for a 1.5 million buy surely must be something going down | tooredtobleed
30/9/2005 13:01 | North Atlantic have upped their stake again but still no tightening of the spread - if it gets to 1p it should shoot up from that point, so wait and see. | tooredtobleed
30/9/2005 12:23 | Thanks toored. Interesting. | siskinbird
29/9/2005 09:30 | They are part of Hambros, got the wideboy impression from citywire article some time ago. The turst is worth 200m so their Georgica investment of around 6m isn't a drop in the ocean but not break or make either. NORTH ATLANTIC SMALLER COMPANIES INVESTMENT TRUST (NAS)is maybe worth a look in its own right although their long term chart suggests the price is close to a peak and sharp correction. Homepage for them is here: Spead has tightened marginally on GGA but no sign of bursting through a 100 at the moment. | tooredtobleed
28/9/2005 21:53 | toored What do you know about N Atlantic? | siskinbird
27/9/2005 14:29 | spread is now much too wide at 5p, 3p is sort of normal and 1p just before there is a major movement in the price. On the good side, North Atlantic have further upped their stake - wide boys investing in wider boys? - just have to work out when they think this one is going to come good. Only hint is that Georgica have the option to buy back their bonds after two years, which is a bit on the long side for me. | tooredtobleed |
