17/7/2007 09:28 | I've taken company taxation into account - but not personal taxation of course, that's for you to worry about as with all investments. | nil desperandum
17/7/2007 08:57 | I hope you are right Nil, I don't understand the doubters worrying about tax and other problems. When they say, "return money to the shareholders," they are are awarding all those major holders listed above with a bundle of cash. If they start selling I will be worried but until then just wait for the cash to be paid. | hawks11

08/7/2007 07:48 | Hi goldrush, I think GLA is a tad undervalued but the play for me is the potential extras versus the minimal downside. We should get most of our money back at the end of the year ... so if UMN, the Niger assets, Quadra, or any of the others bits and bobs throw up some nice returns then we get that free bonus. I reckon a worst case of about 16.5p and reasonable chance of 19p as we stand ... | nil desperandum
07/7/2007 17:15 | Nil I too have not closed out my UMN as I think something still will happen....remember LIONORE....I also like UMN Niger assets play. Quadra is a good company and now with our moly play it certainly seems to be attracting attention.Say it got taken out at a 50% premium from here that's another 2p gross to NAV!! GLA is undervalued IMHO but we have been saying that for a while now. All IMHO. | goldrush
07/7/2007 08:16 | Yes, indeed ... this wasn't the angle I was expecting for growth in the GLA NAV, but very happy to take it. I'm still hoping for more action in Uramin, but that's starting to look less likely as time goes on. | nil desperandum
06/7/2007 21:44 | Quadra is up another 4.1% to $16.42....at this price the movement over the last few days is equivalent to nearly 1p gross on NAV....now if this gets into play as people are speculating IMHO....Remember they can dispose of their shareholding on the takeover of the company. All IMHO. | goldrush
05/7/2007 08:32 | I suspect that Galahad will be selling in Nov... any takeover before would be a nice bonus! | nil desperandum
04/7/2007 22:52 | Did anyone notice Quadra was up 15% yesterday and only down 1.1% today....another takeover story? | goldrush
04/7/2007 17:58 | Is there anybody there ? | tyranosaurus
27/6/2007 15:11 | Thanks for the NAV estimates. Im not sure either are attractive enough to get back in. I think they have got problems with the 60m tax write off from Skaergaard as well. I brought some IOS this morning which is trading at a 40% discount to cash. I think that might be a better bet. | nickcduk
27/6/2007 15:02 | I make it 18.32p fully-diluted and post-tax, assuming £60m tax write-off from Skaergaard | utwiq
27/6/2007 14:59 | last count was around 16.5p i think! | pomp circumstance
27/6/2007 14:52 | There is awful lot of stock on offer at below the mid. 14.74p is what is being thrown back by selftrade. Im tempted on getting back in but they seem to be happy dragging their heels regarding handing back cash. Anyone have an upto date fully taxed and diluted NAV figure for GLA at the moment? | nickcduk
27/6/2007 14:46 | Not such a 'noice chert' now. Does the market not believe them? If they have made that announcement those very large holders mentioned above will be getting an awful lot of cash from thet distribution as well as having plenty of interest for the future. | hawks11

25/6/2007 16:39 | That was a bit of an anti-climax to say the least. However, I have updated my figures using the accounts and statements. I also previously underestimated the dilutive effects of the remaining options and warrants. I calculate the fully diluted nav is currently 18.25p. This assumes repayment of the IMY loan, that the Shambahla tax loss is allowable against NDM profits and excludes any additional proceeds from NDM (up to 0.8p after tax). It includes full provision for tax on QUA and UMN (may be reduced by other losses or clever accountants!). The only non cash asset held (assuming the NDM offer is accepted) is the QUA shares which are only 1.8p (after tax) per GLA share and yet the shares are at a large discount when there must be a strong argument they should be at a premium given the track record of the company. | alanji

25/6/2007 10:02 | The Board is "considering" a substantial return of cash to shareholders to be announced by the end of the year. CONSIDERING!!!!..... | aspers
25/6/2007 08:20 | Chairman says Quadra shares were worth £17.1mill. Now worth £19mill according to my calcs ? Statement confirms all the good news but does not really add much. Big Wide Yawn !! | altom
25/6/2007 07:39 | Results The Directors of Galahad Gold PLC (AIM: GLA) are pleased to present the Preliminary Results for the year ended 31 December 2006. Post Year End Financial Highlights: Sale of Northern Dynasty Minerals Limited shares to QIT-Fer Et Titane Inc and BMO Capital Markets for net cash consideration of £86.9m giving a consolidated pre-tax profit of £46.4m. Disposal of shares and warrants in International Molybdenum plc to Quadra Mining Ltd for consideration of Quadra shares currently worth £18m giving an unrealised consolidated pre-tax profit of £16.8m. AREVA bid for UraMin valuing Galahad's holding at £81.5m - 22 times the money Galahad invested only two years ago giving a potential pre-tax profit of £77.8m. The Board is considering a substantial return of cash to shareholders to be announced by the end of the year. Galahad is researching new investment opportunities including diversification into soft commodities.... I was rather hoping that there would be an indication of how much cash was to be returned to shareholders and when the payment was to be made. rgds lowerSharpnose | lowersharpnose |
