as i predicted this will go to the chinese i feel sure,
and i think a liquidation will follow
uramin could still have substantial upside from these levels, and we might all be in for an exciting ride.

Wouldn't be surprised to see a bidding war for UMN. Chinese are interested and the French giant AREVA has a 15 million share stake in UMN.

Worst view nav is now 16p. Likely nav 19.3p

GLA shares = 773,919,472

any bid for URAMIN is worth 2.6p GLA NAV per GBP!

so a 4 quid big is worth 10.5p to the GLA NAV

a fiver bid for UNM is worth 13.13p to the GLA NAV!

If they have no investments left other than Quadra then I would imagine shareholders may tell them to liquidate and make an early distribution. The quadra shares and any potential upside from Northern Dynasty could be distributed in due course. As it is the company is an extremely inefficient investment trust for tax purposes. Something needs to change.

U are probably doubly spot on Chinese for UMN and delayed results with closing of investment fund....GLA is too cheap at the moment IMHO.

UMN up 11% today. How does that affect the NAV calculations for GLA? If it gets a bid do you think the company will wind up totally and return the lot to shareholders?

Yes, please read the article properly. The holding has been decreased by the massive total of 50,000 shares and, yes, it is held for clients so pretty meaningless:

Its not particularly good news if you read the article properly. GS have reduced their stake since the last notification.

I doubt it will be Goldman themselves, more likely to be a hedge fund client using Goldman as their prime broker.

Did anyone notice that GOLDman Sachs now own 29 % of GLA ?
What a vote of confidence in the Company - Jim Slater and
GOLDman must know something that we peasants do not know.
On a separate issue - I am now in touch with the company
to find out the exact date in June for the release of
the preliminary figures - I will keep you all posted.

UraMin discovers further high grade uranium minerals at Bakouma

LONDON (Thomson Financial) - UraMin Inc said it has discovered further high grade uranium minerals at the Bakouma project in the Central African Republic.
UraMin chief executive Ian Stalker said the infill drilling programme at the
Patricia deposit at Bakouma is complete and the results indicate a near surface
deposit that is amenable to open-pit mining and the soft ground suggests low
mining costs.
