20/2/2018 20:30 | I messaged Ian and, whilst he can't commit to speaking any words at the AGM, he does intend to do a rendition of 'The Blackbird Soars Tonight' to the tune of 'The Lion Sleeps Tonight'. He believes this will improve market sentiment and address critics who suggest that he has failed to communicate his strategy or engage with shareholders. Unfortunately, budget controls mean he can't hire two attractive backing singers so their roles will be filled by Stephen Streater and Jonathan Lees. | nick2412

20/2/2018 18:32 | As a long time shareholder (and cash aside)don’t you think our prospects have never looked better for our technology? have held for the technology throughout (prospects for creating a return). uk post houses started adopting it as early as 2007. been continuously improved. latest java script libraries beyond impressive imo (unique in the industry?). people rely on what they have created to earn their own livings. pressure to move to cloud and increasing file volumes and sizes. i recall some agm years back it being mentioned when shown to top player in the industry and saying that it wasn't possible. in theory a perfect storm yet commercial success still illudes and investor sentiment an all time low obviously. bbc pilot outcome not a good look which is partly (along with new md) why i suspect we now have news-lite rather than expectations in the public domain that come to nothing. the situation will resolve itself one way or another. tech has intrinsic value imo but so far building apps from it has shown what it can do but have not of themselves been the vehicle to capitalise. still lots of cloud systems out there none of which have taken over the world yet. grabyo now in our faces but there have been a slew of others. they typically 1. look slick and 2. are well funded. wonder how wevideo is doing. only 6 wikipedia updates in the last two years. lots of funding means you can win customers by virtually giving it away for a while (believe forscene is not sold cheaply in the market). they are all using basically the same tech so don't seem to me to be offering a genuine competitive advantage (unlike blackbird). those startups that have managed to be sold in the past seem to disappear from the radar entirely. this investment was and remains a lottery ticket imo. | _m_k

20/2/2018 13:33 | NAB Has been around some 50+ years I would guess. NAB time is a huge event every year it is when major announcements of product services and industry shifts. Cloud is very new to this industry so watch for announcements that may affect us both positively or negatively. | nickb
20/2/2018 13:26 | There's been an annual NAB show since at least 2008. What's so special about this one. FBT have been around since the 90's and Grabyo a matter of a few years. They seem to have progressed a lot further and in a much shorter time-frame, without "waiting" for 18 years plus, for things to "fall into place". just my pov ... and now it's turned sunny outside, I'm gone. | minja19
20/2/2018 12:23 | “A crucial part of good marketing is creating a market and alerting potential customers to the advantages of your product ie selling them something they never thought they needed.” That makes sense for a stand-alone product but we are a component in a media supply chain. Many things outside of our control need to fall into place. For example NAB is 7 weeks away if we have integrated our technology into other companies product we as shareholders would not know until the other companies reveal at NAB time. Ian says there is a record number of POC’s going on I sure would love to know the names and details! | nickb
20/2/2018 11:53 | Agree with Minja 100% | mcsean2164
20/2/2018 11:41 | Over the past couple of years the Cloud video editing and production has been identified as having huge growth potential. This is fantastic news for FBT. A slight concern is that many of those involved in the industry have already invested heavily in acquisitions in order to position themselves... Hopefully the talked about POC's include some 'big hitters' and FBT do not get left behind! ... The potential for FBT,imho, is huge and let's hope the appropriate people, strategy and focus are in place to achieve success for Mr Streater, all the staff at FBT and shareholders alike ... GL and IMHO | paulcon1 |
