I wonder what happened to the multi million pound deals the first fundraising alluded to some 20 months ago.

Sounds to me like both Blast and ITV are the usual fare we should and were doing on a daily basis.

I'd imagine this is just the general churn of work rather than a boost to the bottom line.

Stuff like this usually appears around results when there is f'ck all else to print and the veneer of activity is required.

Blast! seem to have been around since about 1994 and are selling both here and overseas according to their website:
"Blast! Films is a watchword for quality programming in Britain and the US. As a company that prides itself on great film-making, our work covers a wide range – from ground-breaking feature films like Hunger and The Death of Klinghoffer, through to popular factual series like The Supervet (Channel 4), 999: What’s Your Emergency? (Channel 4), and Saving Lives at Sea (BBC ONE).

In recent years the company has become a major supplier for US networks with returning series’ like Web Of Lies (Discovery ID) and Unplugged Nation (FYI)."

"ITV selected Forscene"

as i understand it many customers are post production firms who supply broadcasters and potentially also make logins available to users clients (who may be a broadcaster), but it's good to know forscene is on the radar of (and used by) broadcasters as primary customers.

i remember when this was big news (forscene used to make a broadcast tv programme) but now it's commonplace, so i wonder why the tweet. perhaps it is much less common for broadcasters to be the primary user and this is what makes it newsworthy.

selling point of saas is to only pay for what you need but the greater prize has still to be to embed our platform into a larger broadcaster's infrastructure. guess the tipping point is usage levels.

Cc, there is a simple app that posts to all applications at once. It's actually free for the likes of forbidden, I was using it recently.

It seems they don't know some basic marketing tricks.

ITV sounds great and is probably the type of customer fbt needs, a customer focused on profits. The BBC is a dinosaur living on TV licence fees with too much internal politics. It's such obvious good publicity, BBC working with a British video production company.

If we never go back to the BBC it will be too soon, IMHO.

Come on guys, the tech speaks for itself. I mean how many other codecs out there allow people to work on a dial up modem? I'm sure lots of companies will soon revert to dial up tech to benefit from the amazing codec.

No stand again is just stupid.

I realise it costs, but that is the biggest showcase in the world. It's like fishing may not catch but at least have a bait in the water FFS.

the optimist in me thinks the silence is because of negotiating a super mega bucks deal about to be announced but the realist in me thinks the silence is because there is nothing to say, along with the no sales, no customers, no enquiries, no motivation, no hope, no future. Nothing.
