26/1/2018 17:26 | yeah good summary mcsean hopefully Ian can change that SS could not take the product to market properly Aziz had a good crack at marketing but was a consumer guy (and should not have been appointed - blame the board not Aziz though) Over to you, Ian! | geheimnis2
26/1/2018 12:03 | pr100, Genuine live streaming may be edited if desired, add subtitles is editing etc. It is never 'live,' there is always an opto-electric conversion and edited live streaming can be achieved effectively with Blackbird. The variable frame-rate is actually amazing and I can't understand why netflix/ amazon/ et al have not bought FBT. Net neutrality has been repealed, surely that is a huge opportunity for Blackbird. Anyway, Blackbird, the most amazing technology that nobody wants..... | mcsean2164
26/1/2018 11:55 | Variable, content-dependent framerateAs scalable video technology is especially advantageous instreaming media environments, a useful new technique, which is already used by other video CODECs, would be the usage of a content-aware dynamic framerate. An example for the successful implementation of variable framerate is the Blackbird CODEC used in the FORscene system developed by Forbidden Technologies plc., which is optimized for video transmission over heterogeneous net-works. Because the CODEC is fully proprietary, no further information can be given here Quality assessment of the MPEG-4 scalable video CODEC (PDF Download Available). 26/1/2018 11:31 | Genuinely live streaming is unedited so it's difficult to envisage what benefit Blackbird could bring to it. | pr100
26/1/2018 07:32 | I wonder if our ground breaking, cost and time saving, world class sports offering (being used by multiple household names and in the market for multiple years) might break £400k in revenues this year?Maybe £450k? | bonio10000
25/1/2018 16:39 | lol.... Help us Ian McDonough - you're our only hope... | geheimnis2
25/1/2018 16:29 | The Blackbird Sours | aimster4400
25/1/2018 12:14 | Soaring into the abyss... That's usually my first thought! | mcsean2164
25/1/2018 12:09 | Think soaring is a way off, Am hoping the Blackbird would 'just be seen' ... #hibernating | paulcon1
25/1/2018 11:51 | Ill omen? The Blackbird here seems to spend most of his time on the ground with no "soaring" in his repertoire. | chriscallen
25/1/2018 07:38 | Has that link disappeared? Not working for me. | sideshowbull
24/1/2018 16:58 | I thought they had appointed someone to help with licensing?Might be getting confused with DDD though.Which has great parallels. | bonio10000
24/1/2018 16:39 | Apps = Eva ..... but it's plural, so Eva android and iOS. | aimster4400
24/1/2018 16:15 | Have to admit I'm a bit confused, this is the blackbird paragraph from the blog: Blackbird technology underpins multiple applications which are used by rights holders, broadcasters, sports and news video specialists, post-production houses, other mass market digital video channels and corporations. The Blackbird technology allows full visibility of multi-location digital content, with clipping and editing in near real time. This dramatically improves time to market for live content, such as video clips and highlights for social media distribution, and results in much more effective monetisation. It apparently underpins some apps AND allows full visibility of mult-location digital content. Who is the target audience now. Nothing there to sell Forscene. allows full visibility of multi-location digital content I assume every editing platforms allows this? The ability to view content from say the BBC studios and a reporter in the streets. underpins some apps This is of interest. Is the new strategy to license blackbird to someone and if so, who do they have in mind (the BBC again?). It is meaningless to me but maybe not to someone they are talking too? I hope | mcsean2164
24/1/2018 16:13 | at least it has references..... nobody is reading it anyway. | bonio10000
24/1/2018 16:11 | Yep first blog by Kim Dunn. That's £60k well spent | aimster4400
24/1/2018 15:51 | The last few blogs do not reveal anything new to us but for new customers, shareholders and potential institutional investors they are very good at highlighting the power, practicality and cost-saving potential of the FBT product... Like to see them in tech mags, online tech sites, FBT daily paper, followed by interviews with investor sites etc ... IMHO | paulcon1
24/1/2018 15:43 | Blackbird has been around for years as well. It's not new. They are admitting they were selling the wrong thing. | bonio10000
24/1/2018 15:43 | The author Kim Dunn is described elsewhere as a Senior Marketing Manager at FBT looks like one of the recent hirings. | chriscallen
24/1/2018 15:39 | Nothing new. Quick content distribution with Blackbird. We've known that for years. | aimster4400
24/1/2018 15:26 | worth a read - this is clearly where Ian is wanting to go with Blackbird I wonder how close we are already certainly could be very valuable | geheimnis2 |
