08/6/2008 12:48 | So am i but fear my other stocks are gonna tumble. | battlebus
08/6/2008 11:23 | add:- Tomorrow should be very interesting as the current Mentor bid lapses. I wonder what they will do next and will we hear more about autodesk and other interest in the company. Im looking forward to a monday again ! | psolomons
07/6/2008 19:13 | So was it The Fish in Buttermere or Newlands Valley.??Didn't think they had broadband of any speed up Eel Crag bungler.Spent my boyhood tramping those fells. | mudbath
07/6/2008 13:00 | We were quite near there yesterday - walking on Knott Rigg. I am ashamed to say it was the first time I'd been to the Lake District - but what a weekend to choose. Let's hope Mentor don't have their 50% by Monday eh! | bungler
06/6/2008 21:26 | Remotest Cumbria??Wasdale Head-Duddon Valley?Tell me about it. | mudbath
06/6/2008 20:15 | Well what a day to go away to remotest Cumbria and the slowest internet connection since 1999. Excellent news - onwards and upwards. | bungler
06/6/2008 14:56 | cheers. I am looking at STL | littlemadam
06/6/2008 12:13 | No idea littlemadam.Ansys would have been my guess to move in with an offer that we,Mentor and others could not refuse. At least the timescale for developments should be quite condensed. | mudbath
06/6/2008 11:58 | mudbath. short term i suppose so, especially those of us who bought below 80p. But i think you are correct about the £1.45 mark being a fair price. Interesting goings-on though? Whats your take on "other parties"? | littlemadam
06/6/2008 10:58 | Whilst Autodesk is a pleasant diversion, Mentor do hold 30%+++ of Flomerics. They have diverted cash and energy into acquiring FLO.They covet the FLO technology and customer base. Expect a significantly higher offer to be tabled by Mentor within days.£1.45 would get it-imo-. Would we all be satisfied with £1.45(ish)???? | mudbath
06/6/2008 10:40 | I wonder who else is interested? Didn't FLO say they are talking to other interested parties (plural)? | littlemadam
06/6/2008 09:55 | Autodesk bought Mouldflow. Exceptionally well known engineering software company. I am not so sure they are involved in electronics. But its hardly much of diversification. They would at least add to their flow simulation expertise and gain in the way of distribution capacity. A very credible bidder on strategy grounds and would have no problem financing the acqusition. | engineer66
06/6/2008 09:41 | This does indeed look promising. Having never (to my shame) heard of Autodesk I see now that it is an impressive company quoted on Nasdaq with a market cap of some $9,000 million. So they will have little trouble in outbidding Mentor if they want to. | varies
06/6/2008 08:16 | This is becoming seriously interesting. | psolomons
06/6/2008 08:09 | Surely Mentor are going to want to wrap this thing up fairly quickly by raising their offer now. I expected them to come back with a better offer in the 120-130p region. | techmark
06/6/2008 08:09 | I like the bit don't sell your shares in the market. | battlebus
06/6/2008 08:03 | Brilliant timing. No point Mentor extending their offer at 104p now. Eagle Eye | eagle eye
06/6/2008 07:50 | Co still putting up a fight - might get that battle after all :-) CR | cockneyrebel
06/6/2008 07:37 | Should add a few pence to the shareprice. Flomerics confirms in talks with Autodesk regarding possible offer for co LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Flomerics Group Plc. on Friday confirmed it is in talks with American design software maker Autodesk Inc. for a possible offer for Flomerics. The discussions are progressing but there's no certainty they will lead to an offer from Autodesk, the simulation software company said. It also recommended its shareholders reject Mentor Graphics Corp.'s offer, which it said materially undervalues Flomerics shares. TFN.newsdesk@thomson apm/slj | 8trader
05/6/2008 12:01 | I'd like to know who's picking up all these small sells/buys over the last week or so at over the Mentor bid price - it can't be Mentor themselves presumably because otherwise it would mean they'd have to up their price from 104. | bungler
04/6/2008 18:35 | Certainly the worst option long term, and that divi cheque which arrived today makes it all the more sickening. | battlebus
04/6/2008 13:00 | Worst option unless they up the offer. Lets make some money. I agree FLO will be a value stock over time but 130p now and in these markets would do nicely. | psolomons
04/6/2008 10:41 | I don't disagree with you varies. Mentor seems the worst option. | bungler
04/6/2008 10:18 | Let us hope FLO don't waste too much time on whether or not Wolfgang behaved as he should have done. If there is to be a rival offer, then it should come soon as small shareholders who are tempted by the 104p will be sending in their acceptances already rather than waiting until the 9th. Like Mudbath I feel we shall do better as an independent company unless the offer is improved. | varies |
