18/7/2008 17:06 | Best Wishes too everyone who contributed to this lively thread, especially mudbath, varies and techmark who added some character to the proceedings. Look forward to seeing you all on threads of other decent companies. Onwards and upwards!!! Cheers Eagle Eye | eagle eye
18/7/2008 12:05 | today somebody bought shares at 124p! | eezvmt
10/7/2008 14:21 | Who's doing the 4034 trades at 123p. That dog don't hunt. Plus why are people selling at less than 122p. All you have to do is ask your broker to contact Canaccord Adams and they will take them at 122p. | techmark
10/7/2008 12:41 | CHEERS varies and other FLO friends.Certainly good to look forward to the payout next week.I will miss the cut and thrust of this excellent thread. At least we all emerged as winners!! | mudbath
10/7/2008 11:43 | Farewell to you all on this thread and may we all prosper on others. This game is now over and I regard the outcome as very satisfactory, considering the sorry state of the stock market. Thank you to all my fellow optimists, especially mudbath, who helped me resist the temptation to take profits earlier. POWWOW. I think you are being rather hard on the management. They will, of course, be concerned for their own future but they have done us well. | varies
09/7/2008 16:14 | ok cheers still seems cheap, but one can assume the management got a good deal for themselves. | powwow
09/7/2008 14:57 | Mentor offered 1.04 and received 2% take up . They then offered 122p still a cheap offer but will be accepted by management etc so in a nutshell accept or not you'll receive 122p a share an Flo will be removed from the stock market. | battlebus
09/7/2008 12:55 | Hi guys, have some warrants etc left in this one and have been asked to accept the latest offer. In a nutshell as I've not been following it 100%. Was there not a company who offered a lower price, and then another company came along with a higher price... and or offered to buy the company who wanted flo. can you help? Also what are peoples views on the valuation of £1.22 a share. Do you see this as fair value. | powwow
03/7/2008 11:23 | No probs. Wondered if it might be a typo or if I was having a senior moment ;-) | cwa1
03/7/2008 11:05 | Doh! That was a mistake, an inappropriate "not" which should have said "now". I have changed my post above. Sorry about that. | techmark
03/7/2008 10:51 | Why you not gunning for a third in Yell, techmark? | cwa1
03/7/2008 08:34 | In light of the action in Financial Objects (FIO) today. I refer people to this post of mime a few months ago. techmark - 7 Apr'08 - 14:10 - 1148 of 1768 edit Guys, It may be worth checking out FIO, reminds of me Flomerics when it was trading in 40's. I've been there for years having bought in in the 30-40p range. There has been a cloud over the shares after a contract got cancelled and there was a threat of litigation, thus far there has been no litigation and the company said it would strongly fight it anyway. The chairman has a massive stake in the company and bought more again recently, so clearly he doesn't think it will be a problem. Loads of cash, great business. If you look at the underlying business the shares could rise 3 fold and it will still only trade on a p/e of around 12. That's two big take overs in a row and I'm now gunning for my third with Yell Group. | techmark
02/7/2008 19:07 | I'm happy, a nice turn on the time I've held them - especially in this market. Farewell thread - nice knowing you :-) Cash is king after all. CR | cockneyrebel
02/7/2008 18:19 | IMO a pretty crummy price for this kind of software company, but I guess the Directors were minded to see the light if they are probably to keep their posts. I will wait and see for a couple of days yet I don't see the point in holding on now if the Directors are throwing in the towel. At least in this kind of market any profit is gratefully received. It has also been a quality bulletin board which has been a pleasure to follow ...thanks a lot folks! So I'll be looking into the likes of SDL and LDP, and will follow Mentor /Cadence saga with interest. | engineer66
01/7/2008 20:21 | techmark. Agree. Pity. I sold at 110p a short time ago to invest in STL and LDP. I will look at Yell. Cheers. | littlemadam
01/7/2008 20:19 | Phew ! What a relief ! In this dreadful market 122p is a good price. I can well believe that a higher price could be justified if everything continued to go as well for FLO as it has in these last months but, if the 104p bid had been allowed to lapse tomorrow, we might well have seen our shares down to 75p again which would have been very demoralising for those of us, myself included, with large losses elsewhere. As it is, if the stock market continues as it has gone today, there should be a great many bargains available by the time we receive our money. I think the Directors have done an excellent job in getting the extra 18p. If the market had risen 10% rather than fallen 10% in these last few weeks, they could probably had persuaded Mentor to pay more. | varies
01/7/2008 20:13 | Yeap unless another bidder appears out of the blue it's done and dusted as far as I can see. The board are recommending the offer and in these market condition I can't see too many complaints. Clearly in better market conditions or with another bidder at the table 140 or 150p may have been possible. I can't be too depressed when I was buying them in 40's only a few months ago. :-) For those interested I've turned my attention to Yell now for what will hopefully be a repeat performance, and before anybody says it I know all about the debt. Regards | techmark
01/7/2008 19:36 | Thinking this is a final final offer, still on the cheap though. | battlebus
01/7/2008 16:04 | See, I said Mentor were never walking away at 104p. :-) | techmark
01/7/2008 16:03 | I agree not as good as we hoped - but in this market I'm happy enough to take some money off the table. | bungler
01/7/2008 16:02 | At least a little better than 104.... | cwa1
01/7/2008 15:54 | The board have not done a good job in my opinion. They have sold us on the cheap. | parvez
27/6/2008 08:04 | Good luck psolomons a profit is a profit. Mudbath is currently strolling the beaches in Jersey. | battlebus
26/6/2008 22:10 | Im out i'm afraid. The dowside risk from here looks worse than potential upside short term. Mentor looks to be the only bid in town. If they pull out through lack of acceptances the price will fall significantly. FLO is a great company and I hope it stays independent, that way serious gains can be made down the line. I made a good few quid so am happy in this market. The ride has been fun and good luck to everyone else including mudbath who is remarkably quiet at the moment. | psolomons
26/6/2008 13:19 | Not looking too good. Flo 99p bid at present so anyone selling will be tempted to take up Mentor's offer. | tarcotsira |
