09/7/2013 15:48 | UK Car Sales increase for 16th consecutive month. I appreciate this is not directly relevant to ECV, but demonstrates the Motor Industry trend in the UK is positive. | mortimer7
04/7/2013 19:48 | June figs out: Merc LTI Jun-13 42 78 Q2'13 130 205 H1'13 332 228 | strollingmolby
21/6/2013 15:46 | Co has an FD now I see - former INCH guy too - sounds like a decent choice - tho I still think these will be bid for within 6-9 months and so his job will be short lived if so :-) All imo CR | cockneyrebel
06/6/2013 12:20 | That is good news & further enhances the strong investment case here. | mortimer7
06/6/2013 12:13 | Good sales for both companies last month: Marque May-13 % MERCEDES 50 36.50 LONDON TAXIS INT 87 63.50 Total taxis 137 100.00 | strollingmolby
30/5/2013 09:28 | For what it's worth ECV is tipped as a buy in the Small Caps section of Shares Magazine just out. | mortimer7
21/5/2013 10:57 | A nice little bowl/cup and handle on the chart too imo: | cockneyrebel
21/5/2013 07:46 | Yes - all looking very good here. | someuwin
21/5/2013 07:27 | Agreed CR, all looks good here and the business looks well set. Any suitor would do well to strike now before the share price gets away from them. | fozzie
21/5/2013 07:23 | Rather good results imo, a big improvement and look on their way back to profitability imo, in fact by the outlook it sounds like they are probably profitable now after exceptionals, seeing they had only a 200k pre excep loss for the year and near £600k in H1 imo. "2013 Outlook · Trading momentum has continued into 2013 driven by increasing demand for the new Euro V model Vito and the 15-year age limit introduced for London licensed "black cabs". · Diversification into complementary niche markets being considered as part of a review of long term growth strategy by new chief executive Trevor Parker Commenting on the results, John Swingewood, Chairman of Eco City Vehicles, said: "Record sales of new and second hand Mercedes Vito taxis together with a sharper focus on the operational performance of the business, notably our technology subsidiary, led to a strong result in 2012. We continued to gain market share, returned to underlying positive EBITDA and also significantly reduced debt last year. "Demand for the Vito taxi continues to be encouraging in 2013 as the new model gains popularity due to its superior quality, performance and attractive finance packages that together deliver a low total cost of ownership and make our offer highly competitive for the London taxi trade. We also remain focused on further improving our bottom line performance this year. With a trading momentum and the new chief executive Trevor Parker to lead the next stage of the Group's development we look to the future with confidence." -------------------- If I was looking to take this business over I'd do it now, as the have just got to profitability and the shares are cheap imo. Not surprised Wray has been upping his stake a lot imo. CR | cockneyrebel
15/5/2013 15:18 | I bought last week and this, looks a good story to me and a likely bid the icing on the cake. Nigel Wrays buys underpinning the share price | fozzie
15/5/2013 12:56 | 2p getting tested here now. CR | cockneyrebel
10/5/2013 17:30 | Well the chart is curving up, broken through resistance - 2.4p the next resistance. Nigel Wray buying more and more. I still think these get bid for by year end imo. Just my opinion/dyor etc | cockneyrebel
09/5/2013 08:45 | Hardly new news... From the RNS "As announced on 7 September 2012 the shares will be issued in satisfaction of certain director fees, " | phowdo
09/5/2013 08:33 | fees in shares musyt be running out of cash | snatander
09/5/2013 08:28 | Doubt they're particularly cash-strapped at the moment. Debt has greatly reduced so they should have plenty of headroom I'd have thought. Rather positive taking the shares. | smartmoney100
09/5/2013 08:24 | You may be right CR, but it may also reflect how tight the cash position is and they maybe protecting their existing stake by not putting pressure on the finances. When are the December 2012 results due? | lanzarote666
09/5/2013 08:07 | They see the shares better value than cash then by the look of it imo. CR | cockneyrebel

08/5/2013 08:35 | Sales were low for both but as a percentage Merc has increased it's share. 45% to 49% YTD numbers don't mean much yet as LTI weren't selling earlier in year. There doesn't appear to be a "catch up" period yet for LTI though. I expected a lift to LTI sales from cabbies forced to put off a purchase during the winter but who still wanted a TX. No sign of it yet though. | kinbasket
07/5/2013 22:31 | Davidosh: Is it really the most desirable taxis? Seems like lots of cabbies still like the TX4s. Hence the numbers above. | boonkoh
07/5/2013 15:07 | Why do you guys think the sales are falling rather than going the other way if Mercs now the most desirable taxi ? | davidosh
07/5/2013 13:58 | April sales out on SMMT (click thro for the zip file containing the xls sheet) Mercedes: 38 (44 last April) LTI: 40 (54 last April) | phowdo
30/4/2013 16:35 | Big reversal pattern on volume - looking rather good chartwise imo. CR | cockneyrebel
30/4/2013 12:49 | Nice rise today... I see volume a few days back was ~26m shares, and Nigel Wray had 10m of those. Wonder who hoovered the rest up? | strollingmolby |
