MTG,

Just looking at the Vito taxi - with its better space, economy, comfort
and emissions - it's easy to see why it's now outselling the old-style TX4 taxi
by almost four-to-one.

So it might be relevant to have a picture of one in the header...

Equally our new Mitsubishi hybrid ...?

The interims were for the first six months of the year, and announced at the end of September. The finals last year were announced on the 30th June. The company year end is 31st December.

It's a free signup, and there are quite a few other smaller companies they cover - worthwhile taking a couple of minutes to do. Only downside is that their 'research' is paid for by the client, so may be biased.

This is the summary (strangely at the start of the article).
"Based on SMMT data, from a standing start in July 2008 to November 2009 Eco
City Vehicles (ECV) has captured 18% of the national market share with its Mercedes Vito Taxi. The key to this investment story lies in ECV's relationship with Mercedes.
Short-term, management's success depends on gaining further market share.
Longer-term, it has the backing of Mercedes in its attempts to develop both hybrid and sole electric vehicles. We believe the potential for the Vito taxi is significant and likely to drive the share price in the short term. In London, the mayor's recently announced environmental standards suggest that the normal 14-year replacement cycle for London taxis may be compressed. There are further upsides from regional and European sales of the Vito, starting with Germany."

They have a target of 500 Vito sales for 2010, Gross profit of £4.18m and Operating profit of £457k. Breakeven is 350 units.

56% of 2009 (estimated) revenue is from new car sales plus 18% aftersales, 11% parts & Accessories, 15% trade and second hand sales.

Just bought one of their taxis for use outside London and what a great machine it is.
For years I have had to pay Mercedes Money for an iconic heap of trouble thrown together from the spare bits left in the industrys bins.
Now my Mercedes Money buys me a Mercedes. Leather seats all round. Electric doors so no more having to slam the door twice for the passengers. 150,000 mile Mercedes warranty.
Look how the other lot of London Taxi makers are resisting paying compensation to the drivers who's taxis went on fire. Same as the rubbish clutches and timing chains in their last taxi.
No more haggling for ever because they probably dont have the money to pay up, this is a full MERCEDES warranty.
Bought 25k after my test drive and looking to double that holding if the price doesn't rise too much before I earn it.

Looking back at the chart I wondered what had caused the rise in May 08
I noted the rns of 13.5.08, 2.6.08 and 16.6.08
It seems traders then knew of contract news 1 month before it was announced !

diamondsp.Nothing really to add to what deeppockets posted.
Obviously see last 6RNSs for a good idea of whats going on or could be going on.
For me these are a long term hold and I was reccomending them at under 4p on other boards where ideas are exchanged.
I am still holding and hoping for more.
Best read up and check the last few days trades for ideas.
I would hope for some contract news if not I hope the trend will be upwards [for reasons given in the interims]albeit not neccesarily in a straight line.

As I understand it they are exhibiting at a show in germany and are hopeful of getting into that market. Also a high proportion of London cabs over 10 years old have to be replaced soon - both positive for ECV.

debbie you seem to be an active and informed holder here. I've been thinking of buying in for some time and hope to have funds available within a week to do so.

Could I just ask if you have anything to add about the company at all? This thread has been very quiet of late, so I was just really wanting some broader thoughts - any news that should be due in? Any idea what's caused this recent spike? (Possibly a leak?)

I'm also looking at the double 6 and am wondering if it's a double top and drop, or if it's about to burst through. Do you know if the consolidation was on reasonable volume?

The 3 last sell trades advfn are also OK trades
Am thinking they are earlier buys and we are having a treeshake.
Im holding as I dont believe this is the kind of stock to try and trade.

See trade page,in the heading where it says trades most recently streaming ,click into it and take the option trades 0-47.
You will see that the large trades and some of the other smaller sells or unknowns are actually OK trades.
I believe this means late reported with special conditions.
This IMO is the evidence that we have a stakebuider as I have seen it before .
