Bought my first slice. Just looking too compelling value now in comparison with everything else on my monitor. MMs being generous and price still not participating in the rally so my gut feel is that I may have started buying a little early. We'll see.

Article below about BOOMING DEMAND FOR IP VPNs ( say BT IGNITE )
Could Dataflex directly benefit from such demand?
As their VOIP solutions allow the creation of VPNs according to their website
I'm no expert on DFX yet, just been looking it over today.

It has to be the announcement from DATALEX & not DATAFLEX on sharecast that has spooked a few sellers in a very short space of time. I misread it myself lol.

And they are pretty sizeable buys. Don't want to commit cash 'til I see what NUFO does tomorrow at the US open, but this would be a reasonable entry point.

That will be a few bailing out from that burst of buying last week. Probably will continue to drip, drip, drip for a few days. It is going to take a bit of good newsflow to get this one back on the agenda. I'm currently having a good look at their new products. So far, all looks pretty reasonable.

NJP - Dataflex were perceived to have no future in the call routing business. Not because of competitors, but because the need for the little boxes was expected to dissappear in most mature markets. The function of the routers was to be eventually replaced by hardware added to the incumbent exchanges.

As a result their router market in Europe and the US is expected to collapse. However, the speed at which the incumbants are introducing the equivalent routing has slowed. Also, the EU is not aggressively pushing it any more. Furthermore, less developed countries (eg. South America) still remain a viable market.

Meanwhile Dataflex have started to reposition themselves with newer products. Mostly these relate to Voice over IP/DSL. As long as their legacy business buys them time and their new products progress well, the sun may yet shine again.

Check Sharecast/Citywire for general comments on the company.

NJP, thanks for helping but we're talking at cross purposes - I was asking about the US share outsider just wrote about!

outsider, I use an online broker (I'm a very small fish!). Have managed to find a balance sheet. It breaks one of my rules unfortunately - not asset backed. Will look further but I'll be very reluctant to break that rule. Cheers for pointing it out though!
