05/10/2001 22:08 | Being a new one to this company please excuse me if this has been amswered before.... Given that the company has warned on profits, has anyone projected forward cash-burn? By my calcs at today close of 19p they stand at a 33% discount to last stated cash per share figure. Is this right? Are they really fundamentally cheap? Or just a different tech-dog with fleas? | mikemilf
29/9/2001 18:20 | No further developments since the AGM statement of 13/9/01 which was cautious. There is no doubt that once the market turns and looks round for recovery stocks, it is company's like this that will initially motor due to their healthy balance sheet.I think it is an outstanding buy at this price. | apsoo
29/9/2001 09:21 | Any further developments on this company. ' Given my av purchase price it could take some time to recover the situation ! '. | rhodes
10/8/2001 15:56 | But the Vipers bite is tame my friend... ??? | the enigma
09/8/2001 13:26 | The current 'thing' in the telephony market is Voice Over IP (VOIP). Dataflex is on the ball with its own offering - The Viper. BB | bbinvest
09/8/2001 13:14 | The end is nigh ??? | the enigma
25/7/2001 00:44 | Monty, You're right about the market seeing them as a 1 company product and that the market for call routers, in the markets view, is becoming obsolete, however there is more to Dataflex than just call routers, see snippet of a recent AFX, "Dataflex Holdings PLC said it has completed its integration programme of the three companies it acquired over the last twelve months - Telephony Experts, Paxdata and Eurotel. Dataflex said it now offers a larger portfolio of innovative access solutions for converging voice and data networks and has increased its presence in world markets by developing new sales, distribution and support channels. Dataflex also said it is now able to offer its customers a complete end to end solution from call routing through to billing thus enabling the customer to reduce the number of supplier relationships and so benefit from new economies of scale." The acquisition though of Telephony Experts and Paxdata will have reduced the cash from £20M as they were made after the interims, The Nun | the nun
25/7/2001 00:02 | Have been watching for a while now, waiting to pounce. Hold a modest 1000 at 162p and I want to average down at some stage. | apsoo
24/7/2001 11:59 | I think it may be that their product was a one-off success that is no longer in demand, ie obselete. Could be wrong, but if true, makes EPS figures inapplicable, more of a balance sheet asset value play. Watching closely. | monty burns
24/7/2001 11:40 | I am keeping an eye on these, like you say always in profit, but I think they upset the MM's by not meeting growth targets, But those things change, if I hear anything I'll hint. | tone
24/7/2001 11:37 | Dataflex has taken a hammering in the last 6 months, like many TMT stocks, but I feel that it is now undervalued and worth a look at. They issued a warning in January 2001 that the 2nd ½ of the year would be below market expectations and the price has dived almost 90% since then. However I feel that the sell off has been overdone. In the 6 months to 31/12/01 they made a net operating profit of £7.1M, they had £20M in the bank and there present market cap is just £24M! Year end pre-tax profits for '97, '98, '99 and '00 were (0.2M), 0.48M, 2.93M and 5.58M respectively. They announce full year results on 30/7/01 and will be holding a presentation thereafter. Have a look for yourselves at dataflex.co.uk I haven't bought yet as I feel that just because they are undervalued it doesn't mean that the price will rise given the current market sentiment to telecom related Companies. I am, however, keeping a very close eye on the price, ready to jump in, Anyone else got their eye on this one? Anybody else care to comment? The Nun | the nun
24/7/2001 11:31 | With the results coming out just a month after the year end shows the management are keen to post as soon as possible.Like you say "The Nun" with the bad news out of the way they may want to report some good news hence the quick reporting after year end.All in all that is a very good sign. | apsoo

23/6/2001 00:06 | Guy Admire your fortitude. Gave up on this ages ago. I dont think the fellas on top give a damn about the punters. In my view the best resource stocks have the action at the moment. I think you might sit on this at the same price another 3 months...... Best of luck. Roland | rolandp

05/6/2001 23:48 | Interesting news and activity today. Perhaps the city is beginning to see the corn from the chaff at last? | abbo64120
24/5/2001 12:10 | Just bitten the bullet & bought more. Hoping for a fairly speedy rise towards £1 which will still only represent PE of around 7 for last 12 months. | guyclayton
04/5/2001 14:30 | We need news from the company to drive this price high. | apsoo
04/5/2001 13:13 | APSOO gave up waiting quite while back and put the dough in Jarvis (just taken a bit of that profit though). Seems to have reached a plateau. What do you think will drive the price? | rolandp
04/5/2001 09:48 | anyone got any key dates for dataflex, results etc? | kamboli
19/4/2001 00:54 | Wait, wait and wait and when it shows signs of turning just POUNCE for a significant gain. I am sure it will rocket once sentiment changes in this stock. I have no doubt it will change, but how far is it away ? Hence, the waiting and watching game for now. | apsoo
19/4/2001 00:45 | Despite what appeared to be a bright future ahead for DFX in the latter parts of 2000. Nothing seems to be able to stop the share price sliding, with a market cap value not much above previous cash reserves is Dataflex value? Any thoughts? | marko68085
12/4/2001 14:19 | Mr b, I think it is probably fair to say that DFX's p/e ratio and eps should be ignored at this stage. They are a very young Co which floated in the Tech boom when everyone was making stacks of cash, so the above guides may be a little inaccurate. I am looking forward (with tredipation) to the next set of results (Slowdown hitting data Co's big time.....I know,I work for one) when I think we might see the real reason for the recent price slump. Regards Mark | marko68085
09/4/2001 11:48 | They're cheap, no doubt. No debt, positive profts, very low PE ratio. One point on the net assets of £29m is that they include intangibles (potentially worthless) of £11m, so real net assets are £18m. Market cap is £34m at 49p per share. It's just the uncertainty of future strategy and profit levels means that no one is buying them - look at the trades over the last 21 days, virtually all selling. Hence price is being dropped until enough people bite. In this market, no-one wants to take the first step, so it will have to wait until the company announces something, the price will be marked up, a few people with inside knowledge will make some money - same as it has always been. I know how it feels - currently bemused by Plasmon's (PLM) drift, and they have sorted the minor timing problem they had - and still the price plummets. In terms of net assets and PE ratios, they are even cheaper than DFX. No confidence of investors in these markets = silly prices. Watching with interest. | monty burns |
