26/5/2011 07:13 | This bit is really NICE: Commenting on the outlook, Nigel Freer, Chairman, said: "We are delighted to report an improved Group performance driven by clear progress in each of our businesses in the first six months of this financial year. "Each of our profitable and cash generative businesses is now operating from a stronger platform and the momentum evident in the first six months of the year has continued for the first six weeks of the second half and produced satisfactory sales, margins and cash generation. Consequently, despite the continuing economic uncertainty, the Board is encouraged by recent trading and, should the company continue to trade at current levels, expects a strong performance in the second half of the year." | johnsoho
26/5/2011 07:11 | Looks really good to me ;0) | johnsoho
26/5/2011 07:11 | Yep excellent set of results. Quite a bullish outlook to go with it: "Each of our profitable and cash generative businesses is now operating from a stronger platform and the momentum evident in the first six months of the year has continued for the first six weeks of the second half and produced satisfactory sales, margins and cash generation. Consequently, despite the continuing economic uncertainty, the Board is encouraged by recent trading and, should the company continue to trade at current levels, expects a strong performance in the second half of the year." | poggy pig

25/5/2011 12:51 | Nice uptrend continuing...will the results give it the impetus to break through the resistance at 9-10p? After that there are big resistance-free areas too :) | sportbilly1976
25/5/2011 12:47 | Schroders continue...50k at 8.5p yesterday (they continue to get a good price for their sales, don't they?) | sportbilly1976
25/5/2011 11:21 | whats with the AT & UT trade? | sportbilly1976
24/5/2011 08:37 | does anyone know their income structure - i.e do they get something each time an e-book is purchased, and if so what platforms are they earning via - kindle / ipad (itunes) / whsmith? | sportbilly1976
23/5/2011 23:31 | Yes it's a good point ! | paragon157
23/5/2011 21:34 | Can't understand the lack of interest in this one. They're in the right market with their ebook platform though. Their last IMS said that ebook sales were up double digits y on y. The way amazon is going, DWN could be up 50%. Amazon and Waterstones report downloads eclipsing printed book sales. Success of Kindle electronic reader prompts rapid rise of ebooks, with UK enthusiasm outstripping US. | abc125
23/5/2011 14:37 | A further split 100k sale rns'd just now from Schroders... Results next Tuesday... | sportbilly1976
20/5/2011 14:34 | Schroders rns re a 100k sale yesterday...interest | sportbilly1976
20/5/2011 13:10 | good point sb, and helps to explain why the share price is holding up in the wake of schroders selling, if they're waiting for a buyer each time. | davydoo
20/5/2011 12:17 | davy, I'd say the sale was put through as a result of the purchase. The MM working the Schroders/UBS stake offloading will release stock as and when they get it bought by pi's... plus trade was delayed (as were the otehr 100k+ ones this week). unless we have a wide range of pi's each with 100-600k holdings I'm surprised we haven't had rns from the buyers yet though (unless of course we have a large buyer, but then they would prob deal direct with Schroders and take their block in one go) | sportbilly1976
20/5/2011 12:03 | Another 100k sold on LSE at 8.35p probably Schroders and 110k bought on PLUS at 8.50p Interesting thing though is the timings. LSE sale shows at 10.03, when nothing was showing on PLUS, only recently does the purchase on PLUS show as being at 10.00 So did the purchase get done because of the sale or vice versa? Im not sure i'll ever understand MM shenanigans. | davydoo
20/5/2011 11:24 | Interesting.. Amazon.com says it is selling more e-books for its Kindle electronic reading device than paperback and hardback print editions combined, helping its book business to see its strongest growth in more than a decade. The news that the online retailer has sold more than three times as many Kindle books so far this year as in the same period of 2010 came as the Association of American Publishers reported that US e-book revenues had grown 146% in March over the same month a year earlier, the Financial Times reports | sportbilly1976
19/5/2011 16:57 | Shroeders probably don't want to know whats going on - if they had any news and were relentlessly sellin they could be behind bars so any knowledge would probably stop them trading. I suspect they have wanted out for a while or wanted to reduce a lot and the bid talks are providing the opportunity. CR | cockneyrebel
19/5/2011 16:28 | I suppose the bidder (if there is to be a bid)only needs to initiallty get irrevocable undertakings from the pension fund trustees and maybe one other large shareholder. Schroders want out come what may and are selling while they can - they probably don't know what is happening behind the scenes. | abc125
19/5/2011 15:28 | they were a bit late... Schroders owning up to the 52k and 47k (total 100k)...prob UBS for the others then? | sportbilly1976
19/5/2011 15:05 | Interesting, 3pm has come and gone and we havent had any RNS announcments that I was expecting for yesterdays sales. | davydoo
19/5/2011 13:22 | another 100k offloaded via plus...Schroders, if it is them, seem to be stepping up their selling | sportbilly1976 |
