06/6/2011 14:34 | CR - would it be worth updating the main chart in the header to the 3 year instead of 2 year? That way you can see further back historically where price has come from...and where it might go. | protean
06/6/2011 14:31 | Through the Feb 09 resistance on the chart today, no resistance now till 25-27p CR | cockneyrebel
06/6/2011 13:43 | Yep, I pointed out aboce Schwartz had only used MNZS current PE and no premium. They don't have a high growth division like DWN either. It really would be a shame to have to give these shares up to a bidder at 20p imo. Might give us all a short term thrill but if these are set to do 2.5p eps next year (which starts Oct 1) then in a few months time at 20p these would b on a PE for the current year of 8 in their own right without any bid. A new bidder then might well have to pay 30p+ or these might well re-rate further imo. With the year end up in Sep they might well put out a t/s saying H2 has been as strong as suggested in the recent RNS - 20p+ in their own right then imo -no bid needed. CR | cockneyrebel
06/6/2011 13:23 | anyone know anything about the possible value of technology of subsidiaries ? how long it has taken to develop, cost to develop etc 1) Dawsonera 2) the external. co. it is buying the remaining 50%, Phoenix or similar name | markt
06/6/2011 11:04 | 19p take out | solarno lopez
06/6/2011 10:27 | There are probably a combination of factors driving the price in the near term including those above. But there's also the possibility that a bid is just round the corner. Price action has been very strong in the fact of a poor general market so it's just possible that something is afoot here. | protean
06/6/2011 10:13 | I think its just a general realisation that DWN is grossly under valued given its potential for profit recovery. £80m sales...if they get their costs right, they should be able to acheive a 8-10% operating margin. Future profits of £5-8m are not out of the question. | abc125
06/6/2011 09:51 | I had been hoping for a little pullback to top up some more but it looks like its not to be. I agree with others that EPS of 2p looks in the bag for 2011 and given the potential for future EPS growth of 20%+ p.a. minimum, a present PE of at least 10 (i.e. a share price of 20p) looks right to me. | abc125
06/6/2011 07:14 | Ebooks have become the single bestselling category in American publishing for the first time, according to new data released yesterday. The latest report from the Association of American Publishers, compiling sales data from US publishing houses, shows that total ebook sales in February were $90.3m (£55.2m). This makes digital books the largest single format in the US for the first time ever, the AAP said, overtaking paperbacks at $81.2m. In January, ebooks were the second-largest category, behind paperbacks. America's ebooks enjoyed a 202.3% growth in sales in February compared with the same month the previous year, the book trade association revealed. Print books fared much worse by contrast, with the combined category of adult hardback and paperback books falling 34.4% to $156.8m in February. The children and young adult category of print books fell 16.1% to $58.5m. | mrx9000
05/6/2011 21:12 | considering the recent upside in the share price imo the co could make an announcement this week. the current share price is really only pricing in the existing underlying performance so i reckon someone would have to stump up 20p + to validate a premium for forward earnings. | empirestate
05/6/2011 20:09 | Probably just mentioning the situation since the price has made significant upside recently. | protean
05/6/2011 18:13 | Anyone have any thoughts on the timing of the article in the FT... is he trying to smoke out the offer?? | sportbilly1976 |
