22/1/2017 22:32 | Thanks for that Thorpmatt - PG price target 635p in 12 months time! | gargleblaster
22/1/2017 21:20 | PG Note released on Friday. Worth a read. You'll get a free summary on Pro-active investor's site | thorpematt
20/1/2017 13:11 | I see it as further opportunity and topped up this morning. A PE of under ten, cash rising in the bank, good product and increasing diversity. I see the sells by directors as positive to a possible takeover. Again two sides make a market. | deanowls
20/1/2017 11:49 | I agree with posters on the whole here. I sold out this am, for a small loss at the open, and see the price has recovered somewhat. As others have said the share price performance over the past 18 months has been disappointing. Whilst its good to hear that they are committed to the dividend, the markets rewarding growth at the moment, and companies that beat expectations leading to earnings upgrades. As stoxx67 has said they confirmed that profits will be in line for the FY, but will be marginally down for H1. For a lot of investors this introduces greater risk for H2. I'm not saying they'll warn on profits, but there is a greater risk of this happening than yesterday. I was also not impressed with management given that they issued FY results on the 1st December, and provided what I thought was quite a positive outlook. They've now updated the market a month and a half later, saying they are marginally behind last year. That coupled with some large director sells recently has made me sell out for a modest loss. That's what makes a market, two different views. Price will probably rise now I've sold. Lol. GLAH. | imranawan
20/1/2017 11:23 | thorpematt .... i take on board what you suggest.. full year will be ok... which is good. however, anything but negative connotations associated with the statement "we expect the results for the first half to be lower than those reported in the comparative period last year." and you have read it with rose tinted's old chap. there can be no argument that Character has not outperformed over the last 18 months or so.. and of course if you await the subsequent fall in price , that has accompanied the not so positive parts of Character's trading history, then bought in... it is easier to view the stock kindly. | stoxx67
20/1/2017 11:20 | They say they will increase the dividend again, and so they should. the return is miniscule compared with the profit. with no growth and such high director take its very poor, there have been no real buybacks for several years- same share numbers outside treasury. brexit is exceptional but as the pound recovers remember they gain. and it has reached a base pretty obviously a double bottom. any european deal will be positive none will be no different from here. they are expanding in usa and need to think outside the box, or double the dividend over the next year they should get over brexit continue selling improve margins and improve shareholder return, or sell themselves. | mcartdon
20/1/2017 10:50 | I posted on old thread this AM, but simply put I don't think this is a negative TS. Sometimes I just don't think people read it thoroughly enough. I am NOT having a pop at anyone here BTW. That's a general statement which I think applies here. I see this an a buying opportunity. CCT is more of an investment as opposed to a trade for me. | thorpematt
20/1/2017 09:51 | Bought some. Had to really. Don't understand the drop. Makes no sense. That is all. | thorpematt
20/1/2017 09:06 | Such a shame as the company is still sound.Relatively low valuation too I think but market thinks otherwise ! Good support at 430 ish but hope it doesn't test it! Let's see if these levels attract more buyers. | pratt2
20/1/2017 08:51 | no event like this can be facilitated to allow others in..IMHO however, character does seem prone to having "recovered" numerous times only then to release more downside news... | stoxx67
20/1/2017 08:49 | I suspect this may be done to allow others in, FY going to be ok. | a2584728
20/1/2017 08:29 | hmmmmmmmmmm...... not good !!! Character Group seems to oscillate between periods of recovery and downside events. rethinking as to whether i should have this in my portfolio .... its hardly outperformed over the last 18 months. | stoxx67
16/1/2017 18:11 | sadly, more than likely firip sure all shareholders getting a little tired of this charade now | stoxx67
16/1/2017 16:00 | Most likely Directors selling to Institutions. | firip
16/1/2017 15:31 | Some big trades today. Just wondering if CCT are buying back? RNS tomorrow? | h1a3
15/1/2017 10:26 | we live in hope mcartdon still cant believe this stock trades at these levels.. a re-rating is long overdue. | stoxx67
14/1/2017 04:05 | A more active period ahead. The annual general meeting should bring some news and information on trading. positive one would think with online and retail having had a good christmas, usa market expansion, and the toy market expanding strongly. Then the toy fair the net week, with impetus for the new year , continuing increased demand, new products, and , the toy fair is a big window to future trading. The shares are due a boost up and past old highs towards a PE of 12. a much larger dividend is a future hope. like games workshop. rather than small share repurchases which are often talked about but have not evidenced much value to shareholders in 2 years. | mcartdon
16/12/2016 13:22 | Love watching bored punters leave and lower the price hopefully will continue to when I can top up in January. | deanowls
16/12/2016 10:08 | If it was additional shares then that would be additional equity for the company. Totally different to buying shares in the open market where there is no change in equity. The former is adding value to the company and the latter does nothing for the company, directly. It is only really small/micro cap companies (often about to go bust!) that allows retail investors to approach the company directly to provide equity in this way. So overall yet another way retail investors are not on the same level playing field to the institutional investors. | carcosa
16/12/2016 09:01 | But nevertheless, it would still be better than issue additional shares or placing to dilute it. Right anyone? | muji1983
13/12/2016 06:56 | Except ii would not be interested in buying in the open market because they would not be able to obtain a worthwhile size position without driving the share price up. | carcosa
13/12/2016 00:54 | https://www.youtube. | stockdoo
12/12/2016 22:45 | I would prefer iis to be buying in the open market like everyone else | coppertrader
12/12/2016 20:32 | Thanks Orange1 for update. I thought (12795 & 12797) that CCT were buying back but now see the directors are selling to the Institutions. Bodes well. Now for a positive sales update in early January. | h1a3
12/12/2016 17:59 | My original stake was at 33p, The board have done o.k! | elmfield |
