Clangers on BBC1 on christmas morning, adding to the awareness which should help sow the seed to help shift some toys in the new year

I wouldn´t describe the purchase of 1703 shares as fairly large.

I recently got stopped out of CCT and I'm on the fence about whether to get back in. I shall do a bit more digging before deciding.

Agree wholeheartedly about BOO though - my 2nd biggest holding and as a GARP stock it looks a great prospect. They come across as a very shrewd, energetic company who are growing very quickly. A hold for the next 3-5 years IMO.

Now let's get back to some more digging on CCT...

Hi mtb,

In the next 12-15 months CCT have exciting ranges (in some cases to design & fabricate) to market. The business has periods where a company is relatively inactive, then it bursts into life with exponential jumps in earnings. The company has extremely high ROCE, and with the free cashflow to operating cashflow ratio running around 90%, this is a good business. I'm not committed to a long term hold yet. Like the companies revenues, my commitment depends on what's in the pipeline for the next 12-15 months.

BOO of course doesn't have quite the same lumpy revenues, and is a different business in many respects, but I view both as tremendous growth companies. I think BOO will grow much faster over the 12-15 month period I have mentioned, and I am expecting to have quite an exhilarating ride.

Edit: Despite saying I'm not good enough to time purchases, I'm actually saying I'm confident over a 12-15 month time frame. That's the last time I'll mention 12-15 months..for some time at least... :-}

Buffy, I hold both BOO & CCT. While I would class BOO as a major conviction stock I am fairly new to CCT and bought in mainly on fundamentals. What gives you such confidence about its future?

I consider BOO and CCT as my two greatest potential growth shares.

I'm happy to hold both, as I'm not good enough to time holdings in either.

Agreed, btb - but I would like to see that happen. Don't get me wrong, I like CCT very much. I enjoyed most of the gains this year. I tried a re-entry when I thought there was a bounce at 480p but am on the sidelines again now.

CCT still has a Slater PEG of over 4, according to ShareScope. It makes me feel the price is more than up with events for now, after its great run this year.

CCT are still buying back shares. Bodes well and cash flow must be good. Looking forward to a positive Xmas update in the New Year.

Thanks for that doc, oh no sorry you are mr!

For me the problem with the last set of figs was the lack of revenue growth, and even accepting the brand strength and low rating I would normally have been out of here regardless. But the tt's seem to be the ace up their sleeve, so I suppose that for me it is a punt on the tt's but maybe not for you (otherwise without rev increases, obtaining bottom line growth in future would be mainly dependent on cost-cutting).

Anyhow thnx for your input - here's hoping your brain is as sharp as your ears!

I don't think this is just a bet on the Teletubbies.

CCT have been doing well for sometime now.
I wish CCT would provide adjusted EPS figures, but from the 1st Dec figures, I did some rough calculations back in post 12528 that showed that 'adjusted' profit before tax had increased 13% on previous year. Based on my 'adjusted' EPS of 38.8p, the PE at price of 470p is 12.11 (looks like good value to me).

CCT have a core of stable brands now (Dr.Who, Peppa pig, etc.) to which they have recently added the Clangers and now the Teletubbies. The Teletubbies license is a global one and may lead to other global licenses if all goes well.

All IMO and DYOR.

This is becoming more and more a punt on the Teletubbies imv. It seems short-sighted that these are not in the shops ar Christmas. I am starting to sense a lack of urgency in this company - and that may explain why a number of other bb'ers seem to have done a runner.

Remember back in 1998 when Teletubbies was toy of the year.
"Teletubby dolls proved so popular that most often than not they were snapped up as soon as they reached the shelves. Some shops rationed the toys to one per customer.

Around 150,000 Teletubbies were ordered by shops, but the makers estimated that they could have sold three million. "

how big are Teletubbies are likely to be for this Group which is the Worldwide Master Toy Licensee. Anyone seen any projections?

The "Teletubbies" toy range is slated to hit shelves in 2016, following the launch of the show on U.K. commissioning channel CBeebies.
"Everybody who knows the brand wants to be part of it this time around."

Just wondering if the MM are trying to push through some sales at a rather low price to enable CCT to buy back at a good price?

Good for us longer term holders who see the potential.
