excel1..I left BT for a better job with a better company, BT is a shambles and I really do not care if you believe it or not. I would put BT on a par with Marconi and you may remember what happened there.

1% in the Building Society or 5.5% yield and capital growth with BT. Tough isn't it? I just keep on buying and holding.

Thankfully I sold all my BT shares last year. I worked for BT until 2014 and still have colleagues there. While I know that BT look a reasonable buy at these levels, I wouldn't touch them.

BT has many troubles and the Italian job is just the tip of the iceberg. The pension black hole is more than £10bn. There has been lack of investment in core broadband infrastructure while Gavin Patterson lavished billions of pounds elsewhere.

If I were holding BT now, I would dump them for fear of the drop that is likely to come. If one believes BT is going to shake off these problems, that's fine. But it would not surprise me, to see BT down at 250p or less as more bad news comes.

Patterson thinks he is Rupert Murdoch, the fact is he isn't in the same league.

How come none of the institutions think it is a buy at this level?

Q4 cash flow should be stronger than Q3, as amongst other things, the Premier League milestone payment was made in Q3 this year, as opposed to Q4 last year.
Stripping out the horrible headlines, the Q3 report was very encouraging in my opinion

The FCF hit is far greater than 1% and FCF pays the dividend.

Most of the sunday papers thinking it's a buy for recovery. Add on weakness imo.

The market always over sells a share and over does when going up. These are on forecast p.e 9 and forecast yield over 5%. I think oversold.

Orange can now sell their 4% stake, what would give BT a boost if someone buys that stake, BT would be back to 400p.

Your wrong its 1% not 11%. This is all blown out of context £500m loss ok.
BT spend £275m a year on share buy backs, so all they do is don't buy back shares, no problem.

Picked up a few of these this morning. Italian operations and public sector account for only 11% of revenue. This doesn't justify the 20% drop. Dividend cover is good with strong growth potential. Whenever a Ftse 100 stock is trading at less than 10 P/E then I am interested. People are not suddenly going to stop using the internet. One for my long term but and hold ISA. Good luck all.
