Good recovery so far, strong multi nationals are always in demand, hopefully on the road to 500p+ later this year.

Ridiculous to think that BP could not be taken over.

Potential funds though may go into the Saudi floatation?

I would not bank on it but it probably helps to underpin the share price.

There is no golden share in BP, therefore it is for sale at an agreeable price to shareholders.

My thoughts...

Despite the weak (sub $50) oil price being a realistic possibility:

They wont cut the dividend, which is now over 7% and if Sterling continues to slide as the shambles of a Brexit negotiation rumbles on for two years, this will only rise in £ terms.

Or... They do cut the dividend, initially the share price will crash, BUT they will then almost certainly be taken out in a merger/takeover. If it is being looked at now when the price begins with a 4 it will almost certainly be considered if begins with a 3. And they will then get it for 6! I expect.

So I am not selling now whilst the dividends come, and will actually top up at £4:40, and again at £4:10, £3.80 and £3:50 if it gets there (but I dont think it will).

we've gone the same way as japan, rates wont move over 1% for the next 10 years, we haven't got the financial muscle the american's got, we've got a super housing bubble supported by taxpayers money.

and don't forget the government is borrowing money to pay ppl welfare, being the nice nanny state we are. workers..who cares about them, we're slash there pensions in halve and make'em wait till 70+.

Good day Penycae

Ref Your BP purchase

I presume you had a rush of blood to the head following your return to the markets.

I look at the chart and it looks lack lustre following the start of year drop. OK for day trades but nothing else. Perhaps if the oil price moves back up monkey will be exonerated, in the meantime maybe put him on a less rich diet with more roughage.
