12/1/2017 07:07 | Surely a new experienced ceo with drive can turn this around fast. Not rocket science. Buy land at the right price, get the right house built cost efficiently and sell'em! And yet the shares are priced well below their peers. I smell value here..... | shaker44

11/1/2017 14:43 | Teegraph , Questor 'buy' tip today............ Questor already owns Crest Nicholson in its income portfolio but today tips Bovis Homes , a smaller builder with a focus on the south east – outside London. A December profit warning, after it pushed back the completion date of 180 properties, saw its share price slump 7pc to 792p. It has since recovered, possibly helped by the resignation of chief executive David Ritchie on Monday. Finance director Earl Sibley is managing the business. Bovis’s price-to-book ratio is the lowest of any of its peers, at a multiple of 1.1. Larger rivalPersimmon, for instance, has a p-b ratio of 2.5 times. While the exit of its chief executive might appear to signal a company in freefall, new leadership may be what’s needed to unlock the value expressed in its narrow ratio. Its focus on the wealthy south east but aversion to London is also a strength, as it is in prime parts of the capital where the first signs of a slowdown are being felt. Still down 17pc from its pre-Brexit price of 1,024p, Bovis is a buy. Questor says: buy Ticker: BVS | philanderer
09/1/2017 07:57 | Well that didn't take long. Good move, but hope the new guy can sort the lethargic performance out. Regards,Source. | source

04/1/2017 09:58 | ...or a takeover party extracts the obvious value here (only trading around its book value could mean it is a tasty buyout possibility) imho. I would definitely vote for it as this management are real clowns who are managing to fluff huge strengths in all their core markets. Regards,Source. | source
03/1/2017 13:59 | Sorry to hear that, but it seems your not alone as I see Standard Life are also selling down some too. CEO really needs to go. In better hands Bovis would fly!Regards,Source. | source
03/1/2017 06:53 | Well sadly I sold out after the announcement on the 28th. I still like Bovis as a possible play on the wider housing demand/supply connundrum, but that is the straw that broke the proverbial camel for me - I think there are better companies out there to benefit from. Good luck to all you holders still in... Jock | jockthescot
02/1/2017 01:23 | We will see if Persimmon exhibit the same factors this week. I believe Bvs indicated it was their inability to physically Complete build outs.took their foot off the gas. I think it v unlikely that lenders/legal were the cause | shaker44
01/1/2017 19:26 | Source - some good points but the inability to complete sales in 2016 last 1/2 months is more likely to be down to factors such as banks/societies taking longer to vet applicants, release mortgage funds, solicitors dragging their heels & people trapped in chains & will not sign on dotted line until their own homes are bought. Weak pound makes housing still attract to foreign buyers in UK. Brexit factor cannot be overlooked as regards relocation of financial firms/people to EU countries. | jdb2005
28/12/2016 20:30 | "The number of mortgages approved by British banks fell slightly last month after hitting a five-month high in October, while consumer credit continued to expand strongly, industry figures showed on Wednesday."-- market stats continue to bode well if Bovis can pull it back together. Regards,Source. | source
28/12/2016 15:22 | Oh and super poor to sneak out results in the holiday period too. Gives me further confidence a short will come good. | investorneil1
28/12/2016 15:20 | Was previously a holder but cashed out at a loss around £9. Learned the hard way cheap can get a whole lot cheaper. And this company can't get it right in the good times, which I think will be coming to an end shortly, so will be a disaster in the bad. I'm watching for a close below £8 to initiate a short. First target of 100 points. | investorneil1 |
