hirani2: Do GLFRD shareholder who got Bovis shares get this bonus shares and dividend?

dr_smith: Hello you lot. I used to be one of you then sold. I am now one of you lot again via the back door, I think I've been head hunted...as GFRD. ;-) This morning I see BVS via google finance function returns blank - and the new VTY has kicked in - but still showing "Bovis" as company name - and retaining historical data. Nice to have clear decks after Brexit/election/year end buy outs etc zzz. Pre Brexit I sold most of folio except for house builders as growing population on an island has to be good for builders no matter the world politics. I feel as if a fog has lifted a bit now..so hoping to regain some focus an clarity of what the future holds. IMO :-) Dave

grahamburn: Just to clarify.... the second interim dividend will NOT be paid on the bonus shares. See the following extract from 7 November RNS "Acquisition Update" section 8: Instead of paying the Bovis Homes 2019 final dividend, the Company expects to pay a cash dividend of up to 41 pence per Share in May 2020 to Shareholders on the Company's register of members as at 6.00 p.m. on 27 December 2019 (the "Second Interim Dividend"), whereby the relevant Shareholders (which, for the avoidance of doubt, shall include holders of the Placing Shares but exclude recipients of Consideration Shares and Bonus Issue Shares) shall be entitled to receive their pro rata entitlements to the Second Interim Dividend. The payment date of the Second Interim Dividend is in line with the normal final dividend payment timetable.

plunger2: EJ - thanks for confirming the .0381. I got that sum right for once! I think we are also seeing selling by GFRD holders today who don't fancy BVS. I'll be watching the UT end of day to check buyers appetite. I remain very hopeful of the new combine - why would Greg Fitz be wasting his time? So I'm content to be quite patient here: collecting divis and the bonus. GLA

dasty1: True, that line looks crystal clear. But if the record date is 2 Jan at 6pm, I can’t see how 3 Jan 8 am is ex bonus. For example, if I bought bvs at 4pm on 2 Jan, they would not meet the record day of 6pm that day, therefore I’d miss my bonus and then get hit by ex the morning after. I’m obviously being a bit thick here, but I’ve never seen ex day after record day. Makes no sense to me!

grahamburn: Not sure why posters are confused on ex-date for bonus shares. It's crystal clear in the announcement of 7 November. https://uk.advfn.com/stock-market/london/bovis-homes-BVS/share-news/Bovis-Homes-Group-PLC-Acquisition-Update/81089206 Scroll down to bottom and under Expected Timetable of Events and it shows that the ex-date is 3 January.

jaf111: See RNS 7 Nov As included in the announcement dated 10 September 2019, Bovis Homes today announces that, conditional upon completion of the Acquisition ("Completion"), rather than pay the expected special dividend of £60 million, it will return value to shareholders by way of a bonus issue (the "Bonus Issue") settled at Completion through the issue of 5,665,723 ordinary shares of £0.50 each in the capital of the Company ("Shares") to shareholders on the Company's register of members as at 6.00 p.m. on 2 January 2020. This will include holders of the Placing Shares but exclude recipients of the Consideration Shares

dr_smith: I don't have any BVS shares..Oh yes you do.. ..well GFRD shares at mo'. ;-) Given new year, new budgets for industry/employees and Brexit/election haze lifting, a con majority too, all bodes well for the market as a whole, aside from stronger pound potentially a negative for exporters. BVS specific I believe a key part of the GFRD (Linden) acquisition was to bring some of the quality across to cover their weak spot... though that's already likely priced in, but any comment in trade update on changes in the combined entity should go down well. IMO :-) Dave

wad collector: Not quite that simple , BVS holders will get this years special in the form of shares (Which further dilute the holdings so not really a dividend) but I don't get what you mean by a free GFRD share; they will become BVS.
