As I said in June, buy the dips and prosper: although apart from end June/early July, there have not been that many or deep dips to buy since, lol. The reason: banks are essential for the world economy, there are massive barriers to entry for meaningful new banks (which excludes the challenger banks that are very unlikely to compete outside of retail banking such as current accounts and small personal lending), and the big banks have had their share prices hit hard since the recession, due both to tough trading reducing profits, and regulatory and misselling penalties, so have big potential share price rises ahead of them as the world economy improves, and people like Trump make it easier for them to gain and do business. And this is a must: business needs banking to work efficiently and effectively. Money oils the commercial machines of every business.

In short, Barclays (amongst others, admittedly) is now on a roll, with the great bulk of the bad times behind it; so keep buying. This bird will fly, and high, IMHO.

this weeks positive news, pushing sentiment higher..
Italian banks are in such bad shape that they can not raise capital they need to keep them afloat and are going to require an "EU illegal" government bailout ?
A government headed by a resigned PM.

So here we are..back to where we were at the end of 2015
And then the new year, 2016 started, and "we" were told that there was a big scare that China was slowing down?
While we were all tucking in to that Christmas roast, drinking in the new year, some thing secretly happened..the world economy was going to collapse, China was going bust ?????
Remember??..remember that BARC along with every thing else suddenly plunged under 200p and kept on going down ?
In the first few days it lost 20 ish%
China China China...
Today
"China. NOV. FX Reserves drop biggest since January"
BARC UP 50p in one month... 15p in 2 days ????.. 10p in 1 half hour ????????
irrational..must be a change in sentiment ?
