More than 250,000 customers with a Barclays fee-charging package account that comes with insurance will see prices hiked by up to £138/year from today, unless they actively opt out.

Portside - Matty's name is Batchelor.

Regarding the lack of progress or the clawing back of bonuses etc., there's no chance so the idea is just wishful thinking.

There's two choices: stay in or take £172k loss! By staying in at least my kids will save the estate duty.

All the banks now want an earning of £25,000 minimum for blt's. I earn less than £25,000 but earn Nett £36,000 p/a jointly. That figure excludes other incomes. I wish they would look at that.

Sorry for any grammar mistakes. I am typing this from work on a 4" screen on my iphone

I would rather not pay a broker £2000 like I once got quoted. Santander would not offer me a blt mortgage and told me to get a broker. I declined and when with a building society. 20 minutes interview and got the mortgage within 4 days. Going to use them again.

For my residential property which I have a lodger, the santader interview took 2 hours. But they were quick to offer it (48 hours).

If you have the money to but two houses why do you use a free, low quality chatbroom? Surely you have a broker in your building doing all of the mundane chore work for you?

I hope the BOE don't raise the interest rates until end of 2016. I will be happy with that. Need to buy two houses buy then. I will be happy with my portfolio then. After that back to investing in stock markets.

The BOE don't know what to do. All these banks are dead in the water, they know that , we know that but they want to keep it all looking like the lights are on. I reiterate get the hell out of EU banking stocks or wait years to get your money back. I told you last month when you had he chance to save your shirt. Dyor
