forgetting the credit debarcle and all that.........business is doing well and expanding double digit...........now even allowing for peaks and troughs the company should be somewhere £8-£10-£12 looking forward imo.............so £6 is a steal........and they know it imo...............

BB - Well done finding this. It shows things are warming up. No value discussed but £6.90 ? equivalent has been suggested assuming they can raise the cash.

morning all................all I've heard is what was banded around straight after the announcement of being cheap and also the proposed counter offer I posted above..........no prices though...............at another 23% growth £6 looks very cheap imo..........especially as there's talk of finally the subprime stuff getting closer to reaching the final chapter with the US taking on Freddie/Fannie and removing uncertainty............

630 today though so far..............

nice..............

morning all............re freddy/fannie.........it's hilarious...........2-3 weeks ago they were ravaged by rumours they wouldn't be able to refinance and the gov would take over by default......markets tanked.......unsubstantiated runour as they were able to refinance ($3bn I think)...........and the shares rallied...........

now the gov is stepping in to take over anyhow the stock markets have gone into a buying frenzeeee............

same outcome (gov owning fred/fan) but markets reacting differently..............let me guess people got their positions in order (ie got a position lol) during the drop and of course are now championing the gov...........

lol...................

in real news though........Axon still punches above it's weight re takeover price .........whos out there then in the wings???????????

nice..............

bad day again today.............especially oil............which is good news longer term and it'll mean reduced inflationary pressures.......best watch out though unless the BOE starts reduceing interest rates there could be too much of a squeeze and the inflation rate drops far below the 2% mark.............

well maybe anyhow........you never know, it's just the BOE always seems to react too slowly either way...............

'afternoon bb. I'm beginning to wonder who 'all' is - just you and me?

I'm tracking the 833 and EPS reports quite closely but frankly the volumes look pretty insignificant. Maybe I should be noting the overall market volumes as well.

We are now up to 612p

morning all...........good work there wilmdav............thanks........thought it might be Fidelity but wasn't sure................

Gustav doesn't look to be as dangerous as they've hyped it up to be...........notice on weather.com they've taken out all met info (wind speed etc) from the maps.......lol.........they don't want to report boring windspeeds so have just continued to call it a hurricane.........which if you rememeber is anything above 74mph............

2m people evacuated as well............how many will break the curvew now they see it abeiting????????

`Calm' Reaction

Katrina reached Category 5 status, the strongest type of hurricane, before hitting land. Oil rose as much as 5.4 percent on Aug. 30 to a then-record $70.85 a barrel after Katrina closed 95 percent of offshore output in the Gulf of Mexico.

``Gustav's impact may not be as big as Katrina and the market has taken it very calmly,'' Bob Takai, general manager at Sumitomo Corp., said in a Bloomberg television interview. ``Speculative flair surrounding the market about 12 months ago isn't there anymore'' to push prices higher.

Almost 19 percent of U.S. refining capacity was idled because of damage and blackouts caused by hurricanes Katrina and then Rita, which made landfall Sept. 24, 2005.

Gustav, earlier downgraded from Category 4, was packing winds of 115 miles an hour, the hurricane center said in its 1 a.m. local time advisory. ``Data suggest that the landfall intensity of Gustav will not be every different from its current category three strength,'' the center said.
