Posted at 29/11/2008 11:30 by steva Blockbuy (what's the point....?????) - I hope your stock picking technique is a little better than your understanding of politics and economics:-Increase to basic rate tax payers personal allowance of £600 introduced in September will be made permanent. It will be increased by a further £130 from April 2009. The basic rate tax band is increased by indexation plus an additional £800 from £34,800 to £37,400 Raise age related income tax allowance in line with prices to £9,490 for people aged 65 to 74 and to £9,640 for people aged 75 and over Income tax personal allowance will be restricted for those with incomes over £100,000 From £140,000 of income, the remaining allowance will be completely withdrawn at the same withdrawal rate, so that people with the very highest incomes do not benefit from the personal allowance New additional higher rate of income tax of 45 per cent (and 37.5 per cent for dividend income) for those with incomes above £150,000 VAT reduced from 17.5% to 15% from 1st December 2008 to 31st December 2009. The planned increase in the Small Company Rate from 21% to 22% from 1 April 2009 has been deferred until 1 April 2010 Measures include a new Small Business Finance Scheme to support bank lending and a new HMRC business payment support services to allow tax bills to be phased For 2009/10, empty commercial properties with a rateable value below £15,000, will be exempt from business rates. Government will make a payment of £60 to all pensioners in the New Year. Around 12.5 million pensioners will benefit. Child benefit increases are being brought forward from April 2009 to January 2009 The PBR announces the creation of a National Employment Partnership bringing together the Government and major employers to tackle rising unemployment Usualy disclaimer - The above is based on my understanding as at November 2008 of the current taxation, legislation and HM Revenue & Customs practice, all of which are liable to change without notice. The impact of any taxation (and any tax reliefs) depends on individual circumstances |
Posted at 29/8/2008 12:42 by joestalin Yes, many of them mine, no doubt. If the TO does go through, as AXO mgmnt clearly want, I am getting the settlement early. If there is a counter bid, I lose maybe 10-15%. This I can live with as the money has gone into AEX, AST, NPE, MOG, DNX, HOIL and IPL all of which are at a ridiculous discount to NAV. If the bids come off the table and the share price descends back to say a fiver, I will be back in, at a much reduced level as there is value in the company. But otherwise, Thanks very much, AXO, you doubled my money. Good luck to all those who remain in. |
Posted at 27/8/2008 01:40 by wilmdav I've updated the performance bar charts on here:It's hard going in the US at this stage, 42% of revenue but only 14% of operating profit. |

Posted at 18/7/2008 17:03 by ringer12 Seems to have run out of steam to-day....Only up 9p!!!Yes things are getting even crazier..ifs that,s possible...all my shares showing positive to-day except..wait for it..PIBshares in my PEP holding in a wellknown safe Building Soc not affected by the credit crunch down 5%.! I bought these for what I thought was a reasonably safe investment with a high dividend yield.. Will now withdraw them and place money under Mattress. The yield is now over 8% by the way A bit like our friend Gordon Heathcliffe Brown giving you something with one hand and taking back twice as much with the other!!. |
Posted at 15/4/2008 20:50 by milacs fieldhouseNo wonder the price has fallen. Anyone with this info would have shorted prior to Mar 3 knowing that AXO employees would certainly be selling their incentivised shares. How much filthy lucre did you make?0-) In fact you could have bought in Feb when the price was below 500 knowing that the price would be raised above this level to fulfil the requirements, then shorted on Friday the 29th of Feb to maximise profits on the up and down. What a wheeze. M |
Posted at 07/4/2008 17:35 by martpow At some point soon we should see some movement. A good statement from AXO would be good. |
Posted at 07/3/2008 10:14 by joestalin Barclays went Ex-div with a generous divi so I am not surprised that went down.Axon seem to be affected by the FUD factor and not much else. I will be glad when the US elects its new president. |
Posted at 04/3/2008 07:57 by blockbuy this is the stuff we all like................"Outlook for 2008 2007 was yet another landmark year for Axon: we grew the business by 49% and have a three year compound annual growth rate of 53%. We increased margins, won significant contracts, integrated the recent US acquisitions and acquired a business with operations in Malaysia and China." "Whilst we achieved significant milestones this year, in particular the acquisition of JSPC in China and Malaysia, and the growth of our US business to over one-third of group revenues, we currently have less than 2% global market share of the SAP Services market and therefore continue to see significant opportunities for expansion." and £35.5m profit beats average expectations by about £1m................. and dividend up again............... nice................ ;-))))))))))))))) |
Posted at 15/1/2008 16:06 by adyjudge hi all, i still have no positon after exiting months ago, AXO has received some upgrades today, KBC Peel Hunt : target 600p "recent decline of over 50% which is an over discount for any potential risks effecting axons sales pipeline" etc very choppy markets at the moment, i have mainly been jumping in and out of various shorts over last 3 months (will not short AXO) |
