For sale sign goes up at Antisoma

Date: Tuesday 08 Feb 2011

The company, which saw its share price plummet at the end of January after it abandoned development of its leukaemia treatment drug AS1413, expects to cut the size of its workforce to a maximum of 10 by the end of March, and will announce some departures from the board of directors soon.

Workforce of 10 I have more domestic staff than that.

Goodnight Antisoma the curtain is falling ORA only want its listing, and maybe some desks and chairs.

Notable that at 11.22 there was another 10,000,000 sell, well it was at the bid price if anybody wants to argue that water does in fact run uphill.

Firstly there is a lot of deramping yapping going on on this thread today.

Re a possible takeover, read the RNS and come to your own conclusions.
It is only one week since the RNS announcing the termination of the companies two lead programmes.
This new RNS shows that the management are highly focused on redirecting the company with shareholders interests paramount.
Reading the RNS it seems likely that the company is in talks with one or more potentially interested partners.
ORAs large and increasing holding suggests there is something going on, possible financing and or buyout.
I have not seen any sign that JP Morgan have sold or altered their 5% holding which was recently acquired, maybe I have missed that.

Personally I have full confidence in the management, it seems to be down to earth and focused on the job in hand. The company clearly has assets to a value even if conservativly valued far in excess of its current market valuation.

Antisoma shares plunge after latest cancer drug setback
London Mercury
Tuesday 1st February, 2011
(Source: The Independent)

The decline leaves the firm valued at around £14m. Glyn Edwards, Antisoma's chief executive, said the company had not seen a benefit with the AS1413 leukaemia treatment.

He warned: "Other than 3.5p of cash, which we anticipate will fall to 2p, little value remains in Antisoma, and sadly we fail to see an ongoing future."

How much is left now of the £14m

Doc if I am thick what does that make you with your silly unfounded ramping posts.

Clubman - you started out sounding sensible, but now you just come across as very thick. Clearly you're just grasping at deramper phrases you dont even understand!

1. there is no reason it would be suspended. even if it was, for those that hope for a buyout, it wouldnt make much difference

2. when a falling knife hits the floor, it stops falling!

I'm not sure what you think you're waiting for!
if Ora just wants a vehicle to float into, it doesnt mean you'll get any return from here per se.

Better stocks to make money with, than trying to catch the falling knife on ASM.

They've bought nearly 16% of the company. You don't honestly think that they will draw a line under that do you?
The company has plenty of cash and products left and if you look at every company that they have invested in you will see they have a fantastic track record.
Don't need the money invested in here so v happy to sit and wait.

'ORA would have to pay a lot more for shares than 2.35p'

really?

ORA doesnt 'have to' buy any shares
if it got to 4p I doubt they'd buy. There would be no point IMO

After costs, paying off liabilities etc, they may have around £15m

If idiots stopped selling they'd realise that ORA would have to pay a lot more for shares than 2.35p. Stop selling and we might get at least 4p

They are looking to 'do a transaction' to 'maximise value for shareholders' - clearly that could include a reverse merger (ie essentially an 'offer') to get the listing, which is really the only asset they have in addition to whatever cash remains over and above liabilities.

"What are they on about?"

I think they have botched up two separate RNS's into one. I suspect there should have been an RNS for the results and another one to announce a possible takeover.

I could be wrong and they've simply made a mistake and mixed up an old takeover RNS with the current results.

I'm expecting a correction RNS later. Ora have increased their stake to 14% and another 10 million trade went through this morning. The share has ticked up on the bid to 2.4p this morning.

Fingers crossed.
