" when the debt sh1t hits the EU fan - which it will do very soon indeed" and what price then the remaining bit of Margaret Thatcher's rebate that Blair didn't choose to give away?

If anyone hasn't seen this, it's worth a watch. I've no doubt that to a degree, like the majority of pundits, he's talking his own book but he has his credibility to think of and sheds some light on the legal position rather than the usual sound bites.

Re Osborne, you can only mean "no success" rather than "less success". Debt has continued to rise.As you know, we are not "leaving Europe" ...we are leaving that sclerotic money-pit, the EU.As for "not helping", we'll be substantially better-off when the debt sh1t hits the EU fan - which it will do very soon indeed.

skin, is the markets' betting on making a short term gain or avoiding a short term loss in the least bit important? The market and most of its participants would sell their granny if it meant banking a gain.

You're right Skin, as usual there's nobody worth voting for.

...and if any further evidence were needed, just look at the rise in the FTSE over the last few days on relief that Opinion Polls are forecasting that Remain is expected to win.
Lets hope the polls are right!

I don't agree
Control of our own destiny imo is the main reason.
Some of the rules and laws that come with EU membership are
Absolutely bonkers, some countries then ignore them but we in the UK
Follow them.
The governments over the years have let us all down.
A lot of younger people are voting to stay in because they still believe in
What politicians say, us silver surfers have seen and heard it all before.

"is all about immigration"

and regarding the Syrian refugee crisis, who might we blame for that i wonder, i think that Mr Putin knows precisely what he's doing and a weaker fragmented Europe would suit his plans down to the ground.

Play it safe?
Why I wonder do the younger generation on balance want to remain in Europe, and the older generation on balance wish to leave?
Have the silver surfers become less risk-averse? or are they all suffering early stage dementia?
Brexit, sovereignty etc is all about immigration. No more, no less.

Cameron asks us to vote for his "reformed" Europe. Only a fool would believe that what he has negotiated will amount to anything, but a lot of people will vote remain regardless out of fear. Anyone wanting to make the EU leaders sit up and listen has to vote Brexit. I don't believe that in the face of an out vote our parliament will deliver but what it would do is give them the credibility to negotiate something substantial.

One of the major reasons our economy is indebted is the balance of trade deficit with Europe, 10 billion pounds per month.

Guess what if out currency slides on Brexit our exports become more competitive, generating more jobs and adding to the 350 million per week savings.

Vote remain is what people with no conviction will do, the play it safe merchants.

Those that believe is British Sovereignty, democracy and it's up to Britain to steer it's own ship will vote out. I'm out.

emptyend - the world is dependent on debt, and over indebted. Blair & Brown were a part of the problem, not the cause. This issue has not gone away - it is the key issue that Osborne is attempting to deal with (with less success than he hoped). Mercifully, interest rates are low.
Leaving Europe will not help one iota...

Miliband - utter nonsense. Economic suicide was a Blair/Brown government ramping up the debt, mis-regulating the banks and creating the biggest bust of our lifetimes. Miliband was at the cabinet table for all of that.

Its not wrong Joe. As David Milliband has so poignantly said, to even consider brexit is "to flirt with economic suicide"

Both Beckham and Blair support Remain. How much evidence do you need that this is the wrong thing to do?
